i use a teasdpoon of each in a average size spray bottle (well dont really use it myself but i mixed it that way the 1 or 2 times i experimented...noiw i justy add 2 tablespoons of each in the deep cleanse)

Great thread idea. I wish I could contribute, but atm my computer refuses to read SD cards so all I would have is low-quality cell phone pictures. Hopefully soon I can buy a better camera too and post pics from someone else's comp. Until then, I look forward to more pictures from others!

My pics are probably the most waxiest dreads you ever did see, and I really didn't use that much. I am as I type in the midst of ridding them of the rancid, sticky, crappy feeling substance! Check out my profile pics for Mr Wax Head! Go easy on me though peeps, I am quite frustrated and upset by the whole wax process/experience. The cleanse is going ok though folks, I will keep ya'll updated!!!

ok these are not dreads at all, in the 80s in the punk days these were called liberty spikes
back then we didnt use wax we used gelitin or yes glue rubber cement or simular
and this is exactly how that turned oiut.. hair glued together in spikes that stuck out all over..
if u left the glue in it would grow out into dreads eventualy but they were nasty gross dreads
the givin the finger pose too was typical of that style
while real dreads are more about possitiveity liberty spikes were more about just saying fuck you to the world

your hair affects you, how u act and reacte when you have that fuck the world style u gain that fuck the world attitude, but when you grow your dreads naturaly (even if they sont start naturaly in the end they get there on theyre own) u become more possitive and lose alotta that fuck u attitude

    sorry off on a tangent..lol
but ypour spikes will become drwds when u get all the gunk out they may untwist 1st thats ok though..in the end they will dread and u will be happy and next pic a few months from now you'll be smillin not givin ther finger

Soaringeagle, thats not very nice. Posting pics of someone else and then proceed to rip them apart isn't like you. This thread had so much potential but now I see it was just for you to point and laugh at other's misfortune.

To be fair, yeah I did feel pretty humiliated and did feel you got me all wrong with the 'finger pose' and that. It was just a photo that I was messing around in, I don't go around the streets giving out that vibe, believe me friend. I wasn't too fussed about having the pics up, coz at the end of the day hopefully it will stop people from using that waxy sh!t. It would have been nice to of had a few words of encouragement, as I have said loadsa times I am in the midst of cleaning it all out.
It will all be fine eventually.

Ya, I could see in the second post how someone could easily see that as offensive, or embaressing(sp) if involved, but I don't think Soaring Eagle intended it in that way. I used to see that hair cut when I was younger, my brother even had it, not with as much hair, or as waxy or anything(he used gel, but then of course he eventually started straightening his hair then waxing it, it was disgusting, he put way too much in, I probably would of never used wax myself, as I hated how my brother used it, and I generally hate the feeling of wax/gel/etc in hair, so I wouldve never been able to do it, if I thought it was the only way for dreads or not)..

Anyhow, good luck with getting the wax out, Joe. Can't wait to see your hair dreading/dreaded without wax. lol :p

ah i wasnt really sayin all that about you exactly i just went off on a tangent there lol the finger pose just sorta lead there wasnt directed at ya in any way just sorta sent me off on a rant is all..lol
    sorry
    anyways
good luck on the cleanup the orange oil should help alot anywhere that sells essejntial oils should have it
keep in mind a lil goes a long way esential oils are pretty powerful, a few drips maybe all u need
but if your doin like the deep cleanse in like a gallon u may wanna add as many as 10 or even 20 drops just sop its spread around enough to get all in there
    experiment

cant wait to see the cleaned up pics

Thanks for the heads up with the orange oil, I just got back home from gettin me some of that, so time for another clean with my Dr Bronners and orange oil. How long is a good time to leave that in do you think before washing it out?

hmm wouldnt leave it in too long i think try 10 min if that doesnt do the trick then try again lil longer
just thats powerful stuff and it can dissolve glue id be afraid if u leave it too long it could dissolve hair too..im not sure if it would or not but id just be careful and if u do leave it in longerthen 10-15 mimnutes id step it up slowly and experiment
but just doimng 1 treatment for 10 min should do alotta good ..if it dont get ot all out then just do it again
