The giant Panda is one of my favorite animals and now, because of China's growing population, they're starting to die out. We can't put them all in zoos because, along with them beinf cagged in unfamilar teritory, they cost A LOT of money for zoos to keep and tend to have twins. What can we do?
lol Yeah, thats one result of the hugre over population in China is that they are pushing the pandas out of their space and they have no where to live.
It's so sad and horribe that this is happening and more so that alot of people don't seem to care. I wish i knew what could be done. China needs to wake up and see the damage they are causing.
the stability of the web of life depends upon species diversity and we, our own existence, depends upon the stability of the web of life. p.s. the "red" or "lesser" panda, also called the wah, which just means small, or sometimes "little people" is cuter! the word panda means bamboo eater and is the only thing the two species have in common. ailurus fulgens, the red panda, is probably just about my favorite of all creatures. it is also endangered, relying as it does on the same habitat as the giant panda, which is itself endangered, thus endangering every species indiginous to it, as is typicaly the case with all endangered species, their environment being endangered in tern endangering them. this last being something i don't think enough people understand or realize. =^^= .../\...
hahaha, I saw that movie like a million time as a kid. I have no idea what the name is though. I love pandas too, they are extremely cute and all animals are important. What we can do to help? Im sure there are organizations already helping them, we should help them
Of course I think its a bad thing that they are endangered, but I read somewhere that pandas give birth to twins and they end up only caring for one while the other one dies! So although I do feel that humans play a big role in the endangerment of pandas, I dont think its completely our fault. But hey, heres some sites to help them out : www.defenders.org (thats by the Defenders of Wildlife, its a great organization) and www.panda.org (by the World Wildlife Fund, also a great organization). Im sure thers some more sites, but those are just the ones that Im most familiar with. Theres tons of ways to help, you can donate $$, 'adopt' a panda (and get a cute little stuffed animal!), you can volunteer, etc. etc. etc.
Every animal is important in the earth's ecosystem. I have no ideas of my own, but I hope that they come up with more ways to conserve these beautiful creatures.
What's more is that the Chinese seem to be acting as irresponsibly towards the environment as Americans. When you consider how many Chinese there are, the magnitude of the problem becomes apparent. It is sad that they seem willing to allow this beautiful creature, unique to their country, to go extinct. I agree, Emsterino, Defenders of Wildlife is a wonderful organization. I make donations on my parents' behalf every Christmas.
