In the first clinical studies conducted since the 1970s, the Swiss have begun looking at LSD as a therapy for terminally ill patients. This comes after a recent study using Psilocybin showed great promise as a medical tool. So if these studies are successful does it mean that the US should take LSD off schedule one? http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2008/aug/12/medicalresearch.drugs LSD was discovered by Dr. Albert Hoffman, a Swiss chemist working for Sandoz. He was also the first human being to ingest LSD and reported his vivid life changing experience. Dr. Hoffman died recently at the age of 101. Due to political and social pressure doctors have shied away from LSD experiments for the past 35 years. But now the tide has turned! Of course in Holland doctors have used LSD in therapeutic settings for many years.
I'm really hoping this goes somewhere, it would be great to have one country in the world who's government realizes that LSD is more than a drug.
of course they'll find medical uses, my friend lysergic acid is (one of the most) the most divine medicine(s) we've discovered . . barely understood. you go to the temple. palms pressed.
good news... i doubt this will influence anybody to take lsd off schedule 1, but it is comforting to know that at least some places people as a whole are a bit more open minded
its great news, and i would love to see it decriminalized. however, I fail to understand what benefits it may provide medically except making people feel better and possibly have a breakthrough shortly before death... For those who have read Brave New World, it almost seems in a way like they would apply it for same reasons/purposes as the drug soma. (sorry to turn literature nerd on you guys)
klondike go read the article he linked it explains that in there. Also having medical LSD is one step closer to having legal LSD, at least its on the radar as more than a drug. In the article it sounds to me like they're operating under the pretense of helping terminally ill patients when that's really not their intention. When you read what they're trying to accomplish with the LSD used on terminally ill people, you think "wait why the fuck can't that same thing apply to not dying people" and it fully could. I believe there's some hope here, as long as political pressure dosn't win the race again.
Meh, that's a long way down the road. The first step is getting the people who matter to understand that LSD is more than "just another drug"
If you guys don't understand the medical benefits of LSD then you've obviously never meditated on LSD or microdosed or touched samadhi or had a transcendental mystical experience or left your body et cetera. LSD rewires your brain. It helps you shed your bullshit programming. years and years worth of psychological programming can be reprogrammed in just a few sessions. Like I said Beware of your intentions . . You're dealing with one of the most sacred medicines on Earth, whether you realize it or not.
LSD is constantly revolutionizing, it is transforming us as a species. Thousands of years from now all of this will be crystal clear.
only if you look at individual lives. come on man, we are all together. One mind. If we don't fuck this up we will go on forever.
imagine if it were legal and you went to the psychiatrist and he gave you like a 200 ug pill of lysergic. that'll be the day
Magic Mushrooms are a medicine of self dicipline and spiritual samdhi, Stalk. LSD is a buzzing tile morpher. Get with the program brah the Rainbow Family is bickering
sadly i doubt that the Us would ever take LSD off schedule I. they would have to admit that yeas of saying its got no medical use and the government don't admit anything ever.
