And the thing is, looking at the other thread, 95% of the people who responded don't have a clue. The media is acting like Georgia is the innocent victim here when it is the Anglo-American establishment (via the US and Israel), acting through Georgia to deliberately foment a war with Russia. People don't realize this all started when Georgian forces killed 10 Russian peacekeepers, because for whatever reason the media is ignoring this key piece of information.

Anyone who knows anything about Obama's chief foreign policy advisor Brzezinski, knows the guy is known for his hostility and sabre-rattling towards Russia. In all his books he talks about creating a war with Russia. So it will be interesting to see how this ties in with Obama becoming president, with people like Brzezinski running the show from behind the scenes.

I am sick and tired of the War on Terroism being used as an excuse for everything. I'd like to understand our true motives for arming Georgia.

russia today reports that NATO troops are heading to georgia? thats what russia today was reporting yesterday,,then it changed to "NATO equipment",,now its nowhere to be seen..

    http://streaming.visionip.tv/Russia_Today

i also read where Saakashvili's made an ominous statement. "If the West can't do anything about this, it won't do anything when Russian tanks start rolling through Europe."

how close are we to WW3?

Very well researched imo HHB. Lets think about this shall we man. Big brother is pushing as hard as he can against nations that he knows are volitale. Not only do we have half the middle east ravin' mad at our asses we've now got russia as well... Sometimes I wonder. Bush says he aids the under dog countries so to speak. Israel, Georgia, Korea, yet here he is giving israel nuclear technolodgy. Here are a few links
    http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/israel/nuke/
    http://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Israel/index.html
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/892941.stm

Hmm lets see if Georgia has nuclear capabilities man... I wonder

    http://www.nrdc.org/nuclear/nudb/datainx.asp?gclid=CLnH6NeyhZUCFQyenAod8U6RqQ
Well there isn't any clear evidence that they do but it is easily obvious enough that they do. Somewhere there is something going on. Though I can't say what I know there is something man. Give the power to the poor. Well what about giving power through love and learning? What about helping your own country too?
Where this will lead we can only speculate man. But the road I see this going down is one that shouldn't be traveled...

nevermind the israelis,, russian newspapers are reporting american "military instructors" are leading bands of mercenaries in the fight against them..
they also claim to have captured a mercenary presumably from america who is a NATO instructor..

If you read this article linked earlier, you'll see it's all about the OIL PIPELINE.

Every aggressive action this gov't has taken since bush has been in power has been about OIL, nothing else.

this is a interesting comment I found

    Russian Aspirations Beyond the Pipeline

If Russia takes and holds Georgia with a mass of troops, or enough of
Georgia to have an occupied path north to south in Georgia...

And then there is the imminent expected chaos in Iran once it is
    attacked by Israel...

Russia has only to roll across little Armenia to take a role in the
    military situation in Iran.

Thus Russia can take advantage of the situation and claim a warm water
port in the Persian Gulf as well as the oil and gas fields of Iran on
the way to the Gulf. (See map below)

Iran could not say no to the bear ally or the bear enemy. The Russians
could sweep down along the oil and gas fields to the Gulf and provide a
barrier line of Russian troops protecting Iran from the Americans.

If they occupy territory beyond the pipeline, it will become obvious
their aspirations are far beyond the pipeline. They too sense the
moment of opportunity for gas, oil and a warm water port is coming.

It might even involve a Yalta-like situation where we end up thanking
the Russians for stabilizing the nuclear situation in Iran for us.

See map of oil and gas fields of Iran:
    http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1997/ofr-97-...anmap.html#TOP

If we try to hold this situation off by reining in Israel (as seems to
be happening) then the Iranians get to finish their bomb. Its a win
either way for Russia as oil either comes under their control, or is
    destroyed in war.

The only solution is to stop the Russians now. Thus President Bush has
dispatched Condi with "humanitarian aid" which we hope includes the
weaponry specified by Jack in "Georgia can be Putin's Afghanistan".
The Russians dare not block the delivery of such "aid" when Condi is
    accompanying it.

yes its true. Georgia attacked Tskhinvali, russia said they would intervene and did. I think russians were killed too, so its a simple case of self defence.

I guess the moral of the story is that when ever Russia makes the news its to stir up conflict. Plus, where ever Israel puts there hands you can count on something shifty going down.

The Geogrian president said: "What Russia is doing in Georgia is open, unhidden aggression and a challenge to the whole world. If the whole world does not stop Russia today, then Russian tanks will be able to reach any other European capital."

that is propoganda at its finest, an open invitation to WW3 or something of that nature.

The zionist US supports Georgia for the simple fact it's close to Iran. Israel would like to see Iran pushed into the sea.

Now Georgians are dying for Israel alongside our own troops.

    No war for Israel!

As I scan thru the posts of today on these forums, I notice very little on this outrageous move by Russia- If people are going to be anti-war you really cant pick & choose which atrocities our acceptable & which are arent. Speaking as an anti-war vet, I think we need to recognise whats going on in our world & not be bambozeled like I was 40 yrs ago- How can people not care about international affairs? How do they live with themselves knowing that in a part of the world thousands upon thousands are dying while they just flip the channel or brush it off by saying it doesn't affect them? Do they feel no empathy, remorse. What if one day our government killed thousands of americans and the rest of the world said "oh well"??

come on folks- lets stay wake

Haven't they done just that in Iraq, not to mention the 100s of thousands of civilian Iraqis that have been killed.

But we should follow blindly Condi Rice standing up against Russia? Hell where was she when the democratic country of Lebanon was bombed to shit by Israel?

I listened to the President of Georgia and Condi this morning and all I heard were media soundbites about how prosperous in the international banking market Georgia is and how they built a stadium for western rock bands that the Russians destroyed. I heard nothing about the people of South Osettia that would rather remain part of Russia and why they felt compelled to attack them. If Georgia is such a great democracy why didn't they put it up to vote.

In fact you do have to pick and choose, and you have to be very careful and ask for documentation and justification before supporting any nation or powerful body in waging war. You have to be totally vigilant. This situation has been developed by the west.

How could you not care about Lebanon a democratic country, but Condi Rice told us we shouldn't, and most people bought it.

Like the song says.... We got stop and listen to what's goin on! And we've got to ask for answers.

Or we can facilitate Georgia"s push to erase an ethnic minority from South Ossetia. But how many interviews have you seen with the citizens of Ossetia? You think Georgia is offering them democracy, or are they seeking to suppress their goal of independence?
