Also, a pre war question. Before it erupted into this, what is it like to live in a country that has rebel groups that have basically set up their own countries like? I mean does it ever really get talked about in normal conversation or such. It's just a very odd concept, especially considering the fact Georgia is a pretty modern country and for both sides it's just been business as usual it seems normally up till the past few weeks.
TheMadcapSyd, yes it seems like ceasefire is being holding. Current mood across Georgia is is mostly - they're blessing America. lol ) What about pre-war situation. Yes, people always were talking about conflict zones like "lost territories" and wanted to return it back. So, the situation wasn't rated like "it's ok!" in society. If you're asking this.
It seems like the situation is comin' back under control. Good to know that our country is actually doin' somethin' right
Erm, not quite what I was thinking of. I could get them from a travel guide "Yes I think I'm not in big danger because I live in the capital city. Last time Tbilisi (capital city) was bombed 2 nights ago, and yeah man it was really scary.. horribly loud sound, all windows were shaking noisily and all this stuff.. ) Fortunately, now one died. Some strategic points were bombed." Maybe some "strategic points" P.S Are those pics of NOW?
Yeah I hope so.. after human aids began to arrive, Russian armies started to leave Gori. However, Ossetian separatists and Cossacks are out of control and they have taken 2 girls today ((( It's so horrible and I can't believe that there're no chances to help them ((( They have stopped the minibus full of people on the road, have taken money and jewelry and also two girls!!! (( I can't believe it's happening (( This information was in our news, the driver of minibus was interviewed.
no they're taken 2 weeks ago but nothing changed in Tbilisi (were I live) since then. war photos you can view here: http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Georg...=/080813/481/25d55fd795964f3eb672f4fc2ed46511
no. Ossetian separatists and Cossacks. They don't obey to any laws or something... And the official reason why the war started were Ossetian separatists who began the fire. So, after Russian armies left Gori, people decide to return to their houses. One family lives in my friend's house. They have left Gori when it was bombed. TOmorrow, they are going to return back and I've asked my friend not to let them do it because it's still dangerous because of separatists.
I see. Fair enough. I'm seeing pictures of the conflict everywhere I turn. I just thought a few personal ones would be, erm "nice" (if you know what I mean). Thanks for the link btw. P.s: I did not expect any of you running down the street screaming your head off...btw
It sounds like a mix between chaos an' calm. I can't even begin to imagine what it'd be like to be around there at this time man. At least with the ceasefire your government'll have time to clean up an' do whatever else needs to be done after the attacks. Keep your head up
im sorry if i dont understand? are the cossacks kind of like gypsies? they took 2 girls ? why? this whole thing is so confusing! within our media its hard to understand who is the agrressor and who is trying to help the pepole! it seems that both are intent on aggression and dont care what happens to the pepole! i wish i could do somthing to stop this maddness! please stay safe! and take care!! please try and keep peace in your heart! karl.,
