Hey all you people form Chicago...I am visiting your city in just a few monthes and was hoping to get a locals view on what is fun to do there, all of the hot spots (for both tourists & locals) in terms of entertainment, beautiful sites to see, bars/clubs, and good food. It would be really helpful to hear what you have to say. Thank you so much in advance.

I live sort of near Chicago.. I would say try to go to a show . There are tons of them everywhere, from punk to metal to pop, so whatever you like. Also, see Millennium park because it's extremely cool, especially in the summer, and Grant park because there's quite a bit of fun stuff to do down there, although it's a bit touristy.

Alrite I am Not from chicago but I do knwo the city pretty well. If you wna go check out some clubs... Funky Buddah Lounge is great.. get there early because its a hot spot. also check out crobar or red no 5.... Vision/excaliber are way to overrated and expensive...
Also, if you are looking for chicks then got to boyz town for sure. All the sexy ladies hang out there, but look out for trannies some of them can really pull it off... My suggestions for boyz town... Look at thier throat before you look at thier eyes... LOL its a sure fire way!
Places to eat: if you like asian foods/sushi go to red light. They have all sorts of asian cuisine.. They are alil pricy though so if you are worried about that and wna check out a VERY good sushi joint go to Katsu. Both are off of Randolf near downtown.. Mexican hands down Lalos.. It is close to the rock and roll mcdonalds roughly clark and Kinzie... Pizza?: Any genos east in downtown is great. Burgers: Go to Blackies by Union station.. They have great burgers and the atmosphere is cool. That whole area is jamm packed full fo stuff. hary Careys, hard rock cafe, the rock and roll mcdonalds, rainforest cafe, michigan ave is a hop and a skip east, millenium park is off of Michigan ave....
Nightlife without clubs... Definetly Rush st... tell a cabby to drop you off at kinzie and kedzie... he will bring you right across from the Voodoo lounge. Look east and there will be a big flight of stairs go up it ... right in front of you is Trump Tower... Go left and follow that road. Currently Kedzie... Kedzie turns into rush st so just keep walking northbound on kedzie.. once it becomes Rush you have hit the spot.. They call this area the Viagra Triangle and if you visit it you will definetly know why... Good luck to ya man...

I am from Chicago and I would be more than happy to help you. I am in the hospitality industry and I often help wayward travelers find fun places to go and have fun in our fair city. Feel free to send me a message and I will help you out.

Greetings Again, I was reading the previous posts and ALethalDose is almost right on. And yes thinkfloyd07 they do call it the Viagra Triangle, Gibsons Steak house is there and it is very nice but also very expensive. They call it the Viagra Triangle because of the old guys who have a lot of cash hang out there for young chicks who like nice things. You could also call it Golddigers Triangle.

if you can- i recommend seeing the shows "that's weird, grandma" or "too much light makes the baby go blind"- fantastic amateur theatre, always funny and very interactive, happens every monday at some place i can't remember BUT you can google it.

TML for example is 30 plays in 60 minutes, the audience decides which ones.

check out http://www.chicagoreader.com for our free local paper, it has all the events that are going on each week.

    hope that helps... peace :)
