I seriously hate people...

Who spend money frivolously. I'm no tight wad or anything, but FUCK. Do you really need a hot tub made of solid gold?

I was just browsing the channels on my day off and saw this ridiculous mansion with tons of pointless, yet ridiculously expensive things... Such as a solid gold hot tub.

And on another channel was that stupid Sweet 16 show on MTV or VH1...
WHAT PARENT spends $500,000 on their child's 16th birthday party? Who buys their child a brand spankin' new Mercedes when they're too irresponsible to appreciate it? And succumb to their RIDICULOUS tantrums and hissy fits when they say "Daaaddddyyyyy, I want it to be PINK! I DONT WANT IT UNLESS IT'S PINK!" When the child doesn't appreciate ANYTHING, because they've had it handed to them all their lives.

I'm a firm believer in working for what I have and appreciating the things and money that I have, because I know I worked hard to get what I have... And I don't think anyone in their right mind, who had to work for everything they have, would be so stupid as to buy a solid gold hot tub. What the fuck's wrong with plastic? Oh the horror.

Hard to believe a solid gold hot tub just pissed me off so much... Haha

 

Haha, well, I hear you on that... It annoys me when I see stuff like that considering how hard I work for the stuff that I have had, and always had to work for the things that I own, I never had anything handed to me but I am grateful for that...
But with that being said, you can't let others stupidity annoy you so much... If people want to blow their money on things that's their choice.. And you can't really blame those teenagers on that show, it's their parents fault for giving them everything...But I hear you though, you just got to know that that's them and they are pretty dumb...

Just as an aside, I was not aware that there was a thing as a solid gold hot tub, you learn something new every day...

 

dude I totally feel you! I mean for those who buy the solid gold hot tub, I'm hoping they at least earned their money themeselves, though I am in no way condoning this purchase. I wonder if any of these people put any of their money to good causes, organizations, charities, their colleges, etc... It would make me feel better if they did some good with their money in addition to purchasing lavish and custom items. Purchases of this nature come when people have more money than they know what to do with. You're so right!! Who the fuck needs that?!?! seriously paint it gold, damn, are they gonna invite all their posh friends and brag about their hot tub? It has to be about class status. LAME!!! I'm not saying these people don't deserve money, and shouldn't be able to spend it how they like, but you're right things of this nature is simply appalling.

RIGHT ON BROTHER! I definetely know what you mean. Although don't hate people, dislike their actions..love them as a whole. But it is pretty ridiculous that some naive people spend millions of beans on some house they will likely only stay in half the year! I'd be happy in an apartment in a sketch neighborhood, as long as I had my trusty bag of herbs and goodies to indulge in daily!

Just think- instead of spending the big bucks for a vacation house, you could use that money for a good causee!

 

a solid gold hot tub hurts no one. it seems exceedingly silly to me, but someone got paid for a day's work. *shrugs* at least they didn't spend their money bombing a village in africa because they were bored or some psycho crap like that.

I agree. People just don't seem to understand the value of a dollar. And dropping six figures on your daughter's sweet sixteen? Please. My 16th was just a nice family dinner at my then-favorite restaurant. How about saving that money for her to go to college?

 

It just shows where mainstream culture's values and priorities are. We've become such a gluttonous society of materialist excess that people who are affluent are basically swimming in their money. Never mind the starving children in other countries who could use some of that excessive money, never mind the starving children HERE who could use some of that money to feed themselves. We've been brainwashed by consumer culture to think only (or firstly) of ourselves and screw the poor next door neighbor who barely has enough money to put clothes on his back. We're such a backward and unspiritual society that I'm sure makes the Archangels above cringe and hang their heads in shame...shame at US. And seriously...when it comes to modern western culture...SHAME ON US. At least there are folks who are waking up to reality. Maybe we need to become more proactive at waking OTHERS up...those who obsessively watch junk TV and think that money is the answer to everything. We need change and we need it now. PEOPLE...ARE...BRAINWASHED.

 

I'd say that sum's up about 98% of our Nations problem right there. The powers that be have pulled carefully on the strings of the media and politics for many decades, creating fine lines of division amongst the people, keeping them / us at odds with one another. Serves as a great distraction from the underhanded (And increasingly blatant bulshit as we see in the reporting of whats going on in Georgia now. Georgia bombed the fuck out of S. Osetia, the Russians showed up to help their friends as an real friend would and suddenly our media is trying to portray Russia as the overall Agressor?!) games and outright lies they wish to purvey upon the American people.

But as far as a Gold bathtub is concerned, my props to the Guy who found his way to the means of owning such an item. #1. It's a damn good investment considering how fucked our Dollar is right now. #2. It's cool cuz you know anyone with that kind of bling has to be giving up alot of cash to charaties for the tax write-off considering how our wonderful band of theives known as the I.R.S. operate.

And something also suggests to me if a family is going to drop 6 figures on their "Lil' Princess" for her 16th', it's probable they have 7 figures stashed away in some offshore bank for when she decides to go to Harvard. They too, also likely make large donations to charaties to offset their "Indebtedness to the Federal Reserve bank".

Dont go wasting your energy sweatting what some fool wants to do with the pile of green he's earned by one means or another, stress & hate lead to ulcers and cancer. So next time you get wound up by crap like this, go donate some time at a homeless shelter, soup kitchen or a food bank so at least then you'll know someone cares about the less fortunate in the world.

Even if I had a bunch of money I wouldn't do that, but that's because I'm cheap and would horde all my money in a giant safe. But really, we're just jealous, I don't care what anyone says, someone offers you $10 million you're not gonna turn it down out of any kind of principles.

man if I had a ton of money, I think I'd just travel like a nut and try to go to every place imaginable. I don't think I'd be too concerned with furnishing my home.... especially not with a gold hot tub.

 

If I had 10 million dollars, I'd buy myself a sustainable property that lives on alternative sources of energy, then I'd give the rest to every Native American reservation in the country. I would not horde it all to myself.

 

i totally feel you on this one.. it deeply upsets me to see people using their money in such foolish ways when they could be putting it towards some serious good cause for those who aren't even fortunate enough to own or have ever been in a bath tub.. little own a golden one, and if they have so much money they could get out there themselves and help out.. to ensure good is being done with their money.

but, do not hate.. they don't understand.. and they don't know what they are doing.
they are too busy with their minds.. their ego.. they don't have an open heart as you do.. nor an open mind.. an active spirit.. they don't have real love.
instead, be who you are, and live it out.. and show such people how to connect with their being so they won't be so foolish and spend their money on ridiculous things!
the majority of them have barely lifted and finger to get such money.. and they have no idea what it means to do that.
