For centuries people have talked about weird moments when certain circumstances seem to have happened to them before or around them. For inexplicable reasons they tend to remember faces, places, an' other random things that they have no memory of ever seeing before, man. What are your views on deja vu? Any ideas on what may trigger it, or what may not? If so post em here.
You already know my stance on it "In the late 20th and early 21st Centuries, it was widely believed that déjà vu could be caused by the mis-timing of neuronal firing. This timing error was thought to lead the brain to believe that it was encountering a stimulus for the second time, when in fact, it was simply re-experiencing the same event from a slightly delayed source. A number of variations of these theories exist, with miscommunication of the two cerebral hemispheres and abnormally fast neuronal firing also given as explanations for the sensation." -quoted from Wikipedia.org That's what I think it is in a nutshell. My only issue with this theory is that when I expierence Deja Vu, it always seems like my imagination carries my Deja Vu further after I've expierenced it. In other words, say I had Deja Vu of a catipillar crawling across the ground, then my imagination thinks the next action that this "Deja Vu Memory" goes into is someone stepping on it, it makes me almost expecting that to happen. 99% of the time, what I think will happen next, does not happen though, so it could just be a fabrication of an active imagination.
I know for a fact that when I experience Deja Vu that I have drempt it in the past. Normally, I don't remember my dreams, but some really stay in my mind- and those are the ones that I usually re-live. For example, in Wales I was camping. I was walking up this hill and there was a field filled with hundreds of rabbits. I didn't experience Deja Vu until I viewed it from a certain angle, and thats when I remembered I dreamed it. It only happened from that certain angle which laster about a second- but i definitely dream these moments before hand.
Maybe it's just me remembering my last life where I was me, doing whatever I did when the deja vu kicks in. It's just a moment of parallel experience, and I can remember being there because I actually was, last time around. I have a very strong feeling reincarnation is our fate, but maybe we just keep playing through the same life over and over again. Each time we become wiser, more beautiful, more refined overall, and as we finally complete our life to satisfaction, "beating the video game" so to speak, we move on to another one. So this particular life is in essence, just one of my many attempts at this life. This would also explain why the question "if you could do it all over, what would you change" persists so strongly. There's much truth to it. But that was all just sober-stoned theory.
one theory ive heard is that its a survival technique that humans are losing through time. they say the feeling of deja vu was a sensation that was orginally used to warn us of danger. kind of like glancing into the future so we know what to avoid. due to technology and our comfort of living we no longer rely on that survival skill so we slowly lose the ability to use it. now its just faded spontaneous events. maybe? it does tie into what zeroxbleach was saying about his mind running off with it to try to predict what was going to happen next.
Deja Vu's happen when your brain can't sort out the last time you saw something like that and what you are currently looking at or something like that it happens more as you get older it's in an article
I'm not really sure. The last time I had Deja Vu was when I was at college and I felt I had sat down and talked to my friend. This was my first time at this college, so I couldn't have been here before. People often believe that Deja Vu is from a dream, but a dream can't see into the future. Upon 90 minutes after falling asleep, your brain enters REM Sleep (for those who don't know what that is, It stands for Rapid-eye-movement sleep, Oh I hope i don't look like I think you're all thick by telling you that, because I don't!) and one after the other you are continually dreaming. It is said that you have on average, 7 dreams per night and oftenly you only remember a few, sometimes none. People often believe that Deja Vu is an similar occurance in one of these dreams.
i dont know maybe some sort of situations you been in before added on to the situation that you are about to bee in and the scene looks the same from the last scene that you seen at last time you were at the situation that almost looks similar yeah deja vu is weird its like your like "he..hey wait i know whats going to happen next here"
Life is long and thinks tend to repeat them self ether from dreams or from real life memory's that had faded over time. Its said that when u imagine or see things brain uses the same parts it does not see deferents between the two. So when u see something that fits with a faded memory imagination kicks in to put the memory together therefor same parts of the brain have to work double capacity. Maybe thees parts cant process both at the same time and only gets some % of what u see some % what u imagine creating one weird realty that we call deja vu.
There is a scientific theory called "string" ,its part of quantum physics, it has an explaination for Deja Vu..Its very interesting...
I just don't buy in to the string theory and its not scientific it can't be tested its philosophical theory. I mean I could imagine anything put the megerments that would fit in to the equation boom I work it out oh but u cant test it because that think is to small to ever be seen so no one can disprove it lol. And when they said that the universe is stretched out string embryo how can one thing be the largest and the smallest thing in existents at the same time.
Shamen believed in it, they believed they could move people up and down the string. to different points in their lives..I love the theory though, how interesting,I love the aspect of the time travel thing..wouldnt that be something if it were true..I heard that some people believe that we are connected by a "string" of light to the "Creator" or something like that, and there have been alot of people who claim that they have had near death expierences that have seen this string...A human "soul" is a very small thing, but collectively it is the largest thing in the universe( I would imagine ).I think they are up to about 26 strings now...
Exactly the same as me!!! I had a weird one i dreamt having my photo taken on a bench with people i didn't know. 2 years later i had moved house and school we went on a school trip and this exact same thing happened down to the last detail of one of the bench slats being broke totally freaked me out!!! i have had other similar experience but all the others could be put down to the fact that that sort of thing happens and i know all the people and the places when i dream it but that one i cant explain at all.
I feel like its the universe telling me i am exactly where i am supposed to be when i am supposed to be there... i guess i feel like its fate leaning in and saying "exactly "
Yeah I find the theory interesting but strings are very common thing there are lines strings everywhere its no surprise that shamen seen them in visions I could invent the cloud theory and what do u know shamen seen them to in visions and some one could belief that soul travels to heaven on a cloud it don't proof anything. How can we say we solved the mysteries of the universe even though we familiar with such a small part of it. Fundamental flaw for me with the theory of strings is that it is the theory of everything, universe is far to complicated to say here this single equation explains everything that was is and will be. But this is just me i guess its a mater of belief.
No need to get defensive sir nooballot, I never said it explained it I said what a neat concept..Anyone can access info on string theories, its public information...Look it up..
