The first hemp necklace I've made in a long time. I don't know the name of the particular knot I used, but it uses 5 strands--two on each side knotted around a single central strand, making it nice and thick. The stone, I've had (I found it at the beach a couple years ago and painted it red with nail polish, excuse the fingerprint smudges), but previously it had been displayed on just a simple single cord...now it finally has something more substantial. Two pics are below, one closer up. Yay...glad to have a good piece of hemp back on me.
I think it looks good, i like it. I like the knot as well, I'm going to have to try to find that somewhere.
Thanks. I couldn't find instructions for the particular knot online, so I drew it up really quick. It is actually very simple. In the attached photo, pay attention to the blue strands. Start with 5 strands of hemp, pulling two to the left and two the right, leaving one in the center. Then, starting with the right side, bring the right set of strands (treating them as if they're one piece) left over the middle strand, then back right underneath the middle strand, and then over itself. Tighten well (not shown in pic) and the first knot is done. Repeat with the left side then keep alternating right, left, right until it's as long as you want it. Hope this makes sense! It's a lot simpler than it is to explain, haha.
