Smoke Detector Cover

so my friend and I really want to get a hookah and smoke in his suite. We're at college so there is a smoke detector and it runs off of AC not 9v. So anyways, we're wondering if we can just like cover up the thing with a plastic bag or a tupperware bowl or something so that it wont detect any smoke, does anyone see a reason why this wouldnt work?

Also, yes we're going to cover the vent and door crack. honestly we smoke bowls and shit but with a hookah there is a little more smoke involved so we're worried.

Bet this sounds retarded but w/e we wanna know for sure before we do it because we really dont want any academic strikes against us. Anyone have experience covering it?

 

Depends, if you are smoking shisha and it isn't a non-smoking campus then you should just go hookah in a nice place out with some shade. If for pot, I would suggest just stick with what you got and use the money for pot. Hookahs produce a lot of smoke, so you better get all that shit out the window if you do use it.

 

you can tape a plastic bag that has no holes in it over the smoke detector. this will prevent the smoke from triggering the alarm. But I would still suggest smoking outside or in a friends house for less of a risk.

 

i would smoke from a hookah in your friends suite.

but i mean, if you do.. i just took a plastic/styrafoam bowl and put it over the smoke detector.

honestly dude, don't smoke a hookah in his suite. some how, i managed to get away with smoking pot in my dorm room this past winter (the roads were so horrible, it was impossible to go on burn rides) but it is EXTREMELY shady business, if his place is anything like my campus. if you do smoke, either use a bowl, or a vaporizer, and exhale through a spoof. and yes, a plastic bag over the smoke detecter should work, but i'd be more concerned about the smell. also, it's not a bad idea to make some microwave popcorn, because that is a common college kid smell, but also is strong enough to cover a room nicely...

 

lol I'd hate having all my shit smelling like crappy popcorn cheese^^^. I'd rather smell of chronic.

 

But if an RA smells your chronic you can get in deep shit.

 

Invite him? Maybe they're more strict in US lol. Personally I would cover it and set up a camping tent in your room and smoke up in there.
