the second coming of Jesus is deception by the Church to keep the followers on their heels. truth is, the consciousness that was Christ has likely come and went, in different lifetimes...whether it be on this Earth or not. for all you know Christ was another one of the hailed prophets in some other religion.
I believe that this is what the purpose of preaching a second coming of the Christ has become in the hands of those who run the Church. However, I believe that this is referring to the potential we all have as children of God to turn our awareness towards higher truth, and to directly attune our will with that of God's loving intention, by chosing self discipline rather than self satisfaction and attaining the state of Christ Consciousness. That which people refer to as enlightenment, or moksha, or liberation, is one in the same as Christ Consciousness, they are just different words from different cultures used to describe the selfless state of being one with all, turning our manifestation of being back into the wholeness of that which is manifesting all creation. The consciousness of Christ has come, and it has gone, and it continues to come and go constantly, as it is not the person Jesus, but rather the higher plane of awareness which the man Jesus was absorbed by, as was Muhammaed, Buddha, and all the rest of our teachers and prophets. Well, that's my opinion at least. We can see it as a teaching of evil with greed and control as a motivation, or we can chose to see it as a teaching of love and hope, that all human family are equally children of God, and all of us have the potential and the divine right to turn our awareness towards God. God Bless +
Well Islam sees Jesus as a prophet, so you're right on that. Personally, I think He was an avatar. There have been previous avatars and will be more in the future. It could be that future avatars will bring a more complete message. Perhaps mankind was not really evolved enough for Jesus message when he came - evidently they're still en masse not evolved enough, or we'd hardly see so called christian nations where people are living in poverty, whilst the rulers engage in warfare and self agrandizement. The churches certainly have used the idea of Jesus coming to judge us all as a way of seeking to control people. Thing is though, although lots of them prate on endlessly about it, I don't really think they really believe their own rhetoric.
I don't know why it says I started this topic when I'm sure I didn't. the first post was deleted for some reason, and I guess the thread creation was credited to me.
