So I recently acquired a new gas mask and have been using it a shitload. It has an attachment for blunts, so i have made it a tradition to wake and bake this summer with blunts in the gas mask.

    Here's the problem:
I'm about to go on a 5 hour trip with my family to move into college dorms, and i need to clean this out because it REEKS. In fact, I just took it out of my closet three minutes ago and my entire room smells horribly of weed.

So who has some experience cleaning and deodorizing a gas mask?

The only thing that I have been able to conjure up is to soak it in a soapy bath, but I don't know if that would adversely affect the smell/taste of smoke in the long run.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Wash with hot soap and water. Dishsoap is fine, dry and rinse it with a rag and some alcohol.

Either of the above two are correct, but I seriously don't trust acetone. If I were you, I'd go to the pharmacy and check on the first-aid shelf for some 99% Isopropanol Alcohol, and then just give it a wipe.

I don't think that water and soap would do much, this is resin we're talking about.

And hey, hows your face-tan going (the mask of resin you get on your face from using a gas mask)

Lol resin tan -.- that sounds nasty, I wouldn't want tar all over my face. Where can I buy a gas mask though? They sound like they'd be fun to use every once and awhile.
