A few weeks ago, i read about this root called kava and its effects. After seeing that it promotes lucid dreams and supergood relaxations, i went to gmc the next day and found out that whole foods sells it. A few weeks later, i purchase a box of kava tea for about $4.I make the tea with hot water and drink it after 10 minutes of steeping. 15 minutes later as im eating, i begin to feel relaxed but aware at the same time. There was a very pleasant feeling accompanied with it, and a dream-like feel with pleasant drowsiness. Two days later, i drink another cup and sleep after 30 minutes of pleasantness. I remember myself thinking in my dream and actually being more inside the dream. Right now, ive just had another cup. I recommend this tea for anyone who doesnt have trees on them but needs some legal super stressrelief and ive heard it intensifies the high of weed :sifone:
A friend of mine was telling me about kava, it has the same effects on your liver as alcohol so take er' easy.
lol basically ive started off tellin my friends to try weed after my first time, so all of us got baked and they liked it. Now im telling them kava is the shit, one of my friends tried it he said it was really good and he seemed drunk lol. i gave about one tea bag to each of my friends
wonder what would happen if you tried to smoke it haha the only problem with mixing it with weed from what i can see is that it looks like it causes extreme drowsiness, so when mixed with THC your probably just going to sleep the whole time instead of enjoy the high :/
Whoooa, you can get kava kava in tea bags? When my friend got it he got a root he had to boil and sift. It tasted peppery and was NOT enjoyable to drink but the side effects were fun. I'm not so sure that it has the same effect as alcohol on your liver but I KNOW you're not supposed to mix them for whatever reason. Is the tea the same as the root method I was talking about? It probably is since the sifting is pretty much like using filter paper but... yeah. If I could get this at CVS I'd be amazed. I'll have to hit up Whole Foods.
I worded that last question really stupidly... I think I meant something to the effect of "does the tea have the same effect as the root?" but really, it was a dumb question anyways.
Yeah, I gotta hit Whole foods soon anyway for some "clean tea". So I'll pick up some kava too. Can someone verify how bad it is for your liver though?
damn i know where a whole foods is kinda near my house i just never go really. sounds like its kinda nice, if it actually gives you effects and they sell it in stores? i enjoy drinking some tea every know and then when im smoking a cigg or a joint so i'll prolly invest in some.
Is anyone else drawing a blank on this? I went to 5 different pharmacies and a GNC, and I can't find it... other than whole foods where can you get it? BTW, this might be bullshit, but the lady at GNC said that they discontinued it because it was causing people to go into a coma. I think it was because of drug interactions or people being stupid and taking too much, but anyone have info on this?
It is best to get kava root or the kava root powder off the internet from islands where it is grown (Vanuatu is best). Ebay you can get it really cheap, and I have some from Ebay but I haven't tested it yet so I can't tell you on its strength. Capsules I've heard are very weak and extended use is bad for your liver, so they wouldn't be worth it anyways. I have some Yogi Kava Stress Relief tea also. It's got 30% kavalactone extract in it and using 4 bags at once and steeping for 20 to 30 minutes still doesn't do much. I had it at cold temperature, maybe it needs a hotter temperature, but it doesn't take much heat to destroy kavalactones and make it pointless anyways. I'd say your best bet is powder and you can only get that off the internet in the US. GNC here doesn't sell it either but the lady never told me why. About the liver problems with kava, the root and root powder do not cause liver problems. It is the rest of the plant that does. According to my Vanuatu friends who work in the kava business and drink it daily at kava bars, the "liver scare" is because Europeans got interested in the kava business and wanted to buy the whole plant and process not just the root, but the stems, leaves, etc., which are not good for you. The Vanuatu people use only the root. Also, don't drink it with alcohol. I have heard from them it will give you a very bad nausea and you might puke. From first-hand experience it's good to smoke a bowl or two with though. Try and drink it in a quiet place without too much lighting, night time is best. Eat a meal afterwards too. It tastes like drinking mud and the best thing to mix it with I've found is Gatorade. Sugar makes it taste even worse IMO. I don't drink it mixed with anything often though. (Green tea + sugar + kava = most nastiest fuckin thing I ever drank in my life)
BTW, I forgot to add that the more times you drink kava the stronger it gets, kind of like salvia, you don't build a tolerance. I've drank a lot of kava and can attest to this.
