    The only removal kit is a pair of scissors.

    Not true. I managed to comb mine out with a nit comb took a few months but it can be done. Then I got them back :)

    Yea, you might try snipping off the bottoms to help loosen them, but you can probably get them out by combing. I did, though they were only 1 year old, it's a bit painful and time consuming, but better than chopping them all off. But DON'T pay for some "removal kit". That's a waste of money.
