You didn't ask for my insight. I don't want to push my views on you, nor did i want to completely hijack this thread by going on a speal about how to lucid dream. And I'm not sure that dreamviews.com actually makes money off of the information they offer either.... Anyway I didn't think you'd be interested in hearing about my lucid experiences. I'm not good at expressing myself or communicating with people apparently.... Stalk is though. You should go read his thread on WILDing.
I've noticed a lot of jealousy in the folks who can't lucid dream. I've also seen this same powerful emotion drive them to gain such an experience.
I toss and turn, kick, snore occasionally. I grind my teeth like no other, thought. Doctor's said I would grow out of it by the time I was ten.... I used to have hellish nightmares if I didn't sleep with my light on. I kinda weened myself off of it, so to speak. I went from bedroom light, to tv on, to sleeping facing the alarm clock blinking the incorrect time, to alarm clock set, just facing the alarm clock. Still have those damned nightmares once or twice though.
I sleep in pajama pants and a t-shirt, and usually on my side. Sometimes on my back, but only very rarely, and never on my stomach. I toss and turn a lot before I sleep. And even more when I'm sleeping. I always need some sort of white noise because of my tinnitus. I run a fan all year long. I need to be covered up. I also need something to wrap my arms around. Either a stuffed animal, a pillow, a bunched up blanket or another person. I need to be very tired before I lay down, otherwise I'll keep myself up for hours thinking. I am a very, very light sleeper. If you look at me the wrong way, I'll wake up. I have lots of dreams. They're very vivid and certain ones I remember forever whereas others leave my head 10 minutes after waking. I need 9 hours of sleep a night to function properly...and I haven't been getting that lately due to stress but things are better now so hopefully that won't be a problem anymore.
I close my door, get naked, turn on the news or a non-entertaining show, pray, take some herbal sleeping pills and water, and just lay down and close my eyes with my covers over me =] =]
right side in the fetal position, until that spot of the bed gets too warm, and then I will switch to my left side to get the cool spots
I cant naked ! I need to wear something that is comfortable to me. I usually open up the lamp then i wake up turn it off. I'd like to cover up to my head in the winter.
Usually sleep in shorts and a T-shirt - winter / summer / rain / shine. Usually on either my left or right - but I flip from side to side all night. I even swap ends. I prefer to sleep on my back (rarely do though) because I sleep better and more deeply, plus I have some of the best dreams while sleeping on my back (probably because of a differing distribution of blood flow to my brain, causing stimulation to differing regions of my brain). I fall asleep fairly easily. But... If I've not slept well, I sometimes doze off about 4am to be "awakened" in a lucid dream. Usually this involves a weird buzzing in my head followed by flashing lights... Feels like my mind is getting a reboot. I then can dream about pretty much what I like. But, as soon as an "evil" thought enters my head I want to wake up, but I can't. Well not easily anyway. I usually have to repeat: Wake up wake up wake the fuck up. Then I awake. Refreshed and like i've slept for a fortnight. My lucid dreams, good or bad, make me feel a whole lot better.
if im sleeping with my boyfriend then naked. if im sleeping on my own then i usually wear undies and a shirt. im not really fussy about what i wear to bed i always start sleeping on my stomach and turn around a lot. i can never get to sleep until about 2hrs of lying there. i like silence but i dont mind some sounds, like planes. and i dont really care how light it is
i don't necessarily buy the concept of making yourself dream lucidly, but occasionally when i'm dreaming it will occur to me that this can't actually happen in real life and the dream will be lucid from there out...
I don't think you can make yourself lucid dream. I do think (and it is well researcherd truth) it does occur. A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress, also known as a conscious dream. When the dreamer is lucid, he or she can actively participate in the dream environment without any of the limitations that otherwise would feel natural to persons who incorrectly believe they are in the "real" waking world. Lucid dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream. A lucid dream can begin in one of two ways. A dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD) starts as a normal dream, and the dreamer eventually concludes that he or she is dreaming, while a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD) occurs when the dreamer goes from a normal waking state directly into a dream state with no apparent lapse in consciousness. Lucid dreaming has been researched scientifically, and its existence is well established. Scientists such as Allan Hobson, with his neurophysiological approach to dream research, have helped to push the understanding of lucid dreaming into a less speculative realm. It would be great if your whole life was one lucid dream. But we do need to eat and have a pee and poo. Sad but true.
I may or may not have posted in here already but... I usually head off to bed around 11-12 and get to sleep around 12:30-1. I like to sleep in a large shirt or long sleeve, my oscar the grouch bottoms but no bra. I cannot sleep if I am not wearing a bra. Idk, itjust feels strange to me. I have my own little bed time ritual where I have to lay on my side facing the wall. My head rests on two pillows and I hug a third. I like to listen to music, or just listen to the TV until I get really tired and then I switch off the TV or music, roll over, still hugging the pillow and finally go to sleep facing the door - Which is usually open. I don't like to stagger around trying to find a light switch if I need to get up later on. I also talk a little in my sleep. I guess I have some pretty weird dreams. Mst are of me saving the world, or people in some way or another. I remember having a dream about Achilles and a decendant(sp?) of him one time after watching a few episodes of a TV show called "Class of the Titans" a few weeks ago.
I have to have a pillow between my knees. I don't want my knee caps knocking into each other when I'm sleeping sideways. I do alternate between sideways and belly down hugging the pilly. Aw.
I like to sleep diagonally on the bed, on my tummy, spread out taking up the whole bed. I absolutely HAVE TO HAVE a huge comfy blanket.
