Hey Michael, you actually have a good point. He'll only have his best and richest with him...I like that. Not that I care too much about money, but still...Ya know... So...I wish I had your looks, your humour AND now your logic. No, there are no maid of honours here. Weddings here usually have like atleast 300 people. And since My sis is having a small wedding, that means I'll have to be the one who'll have a huuuuge wedding I think wedding rituals are pretty similar. Just different food and different music. And I think our weddings are much louder. There are some old rituals but noone does them anymore. Wedding of friends sound better. But really, I'm generally not a fan. I dont know why....Something about such ceremonies makes me sad. Oh your cousin is a he. Cool. Is the girl nice ? Pretty ? I'm sure you're gonna have a blast. Dominican Republic is probably beautiful. You're gonna get a nice tan 2 years without a decent vacation ? Aww...poor you
I don't get invited to many weddings.... should I take this as a sign.... Meh, been to few not that big of a deal... I got free food and tasty beverages and see people being happy... It's not that horrible, rather be at a wedding than tons of other places...
I haven't been to many weddings at all. Nobody has them anymore. But that's because I'm not in Brazil. My aunts wedding was a bore. But my grandfather's 50 years marriage was a blast! My uncle sang "New York, New York" for me. I had to waltz with my grandmother. All my female cousins looked gorgeous. I hadn't seen my people in years. I snuck up on my uncle for cigarettes. And picked up two brazilian maids! :cheers2:
i like weddings. ive only been to a couple, but i think they can be pretty fun usually... provided there are people you know and like hanging out with. being around people you dont like totally sucks i want my wedding to be freakin awesome. mostly want the reception to just be lots of fun for people... and the ceremony beforehand to not be atrociously long
i haven't been to a wedding since my own, and i hope i never have to go to another one again. i am a disbeliever in the institution of marriage on the whole, and thus seriously dislike weddings. plust i HATE getting dressed up. that being said, if like, a friend i was really really close to decided to get married, and it was a genuine "i really want to get married and do the wedding thing" i might actually go, to support someone i really cared about.
my wedding is going to be medievil style in a castle and we'll probably have to drink some of each others blood to consumate the marriage
they boring... tho' the free food is good unless it's an arranged marriage, or the bride is pregnant.. then the look of expectant terror and distrust on everyone's faces is kinda cool Oz always the bridesmaid, never the bride
i've only been to family weddings, almost all of which were on the nosy uber-religious side of the family, so they kind of suck. i can see where they would be enjoyable with a better crowd though
I disagree. I love weddings. I feel it is a privilege to get invited to somebody's intimate union ceremony, and it warms my heart how devoted they are to each other - no matter how crabby or shitty the ceremony turns out to be. Every wedding has glitches, every family has a black sheep, but it's so nice to be able to attend and let it all go and enjoy yourself. Ode to weddings! I love you.
for about seven seconds I felt that yesterday, when I saw how happy chris was, and then it ended, and I saw how it stopped being about them, and started being about her, and her friend who wrested control of the whole thing.
Uhhh, what are you talking about? Who is Chris? What happened? Maybe Chris was too lazy to help plan the wedding. Just a thought.
chris, brother in law, I knew shan (sister) would act happy, no matter what happened, but he sucks at generating false emotion, and after all the shit she puts him through, he needed this. the pastor was irritatingly editorial though, and I spent the whole day wrangling everyones children (I was promised I wouldn't end up doing this, but, I did, fortunately I brought my emergency kit of flashlights, dried fruit, cookies, and tic tacs)
