What do you think of Japanese metal? Im not talking about X-Japan.

My 2 favorite Japanese bands are Blood Stain Child (Melodic Death Metal) and Unholy Grave (Grindcore)_

    I've never heard any.

If there was a band that did songs about samurai or feudal japan or some shit I'd check them out. But if theyre all just about your typical death metal themes I'll pass.

Sigh is a Japanese black metal band, originaly on Euronymous' DSP. I bought Infidel Art and thought it was realy good. It did have some experimentation and symphonic elements, but sounded completely different then the european BM scene. After that I bought Hail Horror Hail, which wasn't necisarily bad, but there was little of what could be called BM and a while lot more experimentation. I heard that they kept going in that direction.
Barbatos, Abigail & EDM are good too.

Intestine Baalism are a great Japanese death metal band in the Swedish melodic style.

Blood Stain Child is really good band but every time i introduce them to anyone i say that is trance-metal which creeps them out ^^ I really like it though as i think that Melodeath fits good with some techno/trance stuff... And i really love Dir En Grey, which atleast now is metal... Used to be visual kei before but now is definetly metal. And then there is The Versailles, which i think might be power metal? I dunno what it exactly is but i can say that they are goood... Then there is also Maximum The Hormone which is kind of punk and metal fusion. Quite nice to listen just for fun in free time. And X Japan is more rock but still good.

Sigh is great, but the best Japanese band is by far Infernal Revulsion. Saw them live at California Deathfest and they were the best band there.

    Anyone heard of Tyrant?

Well worth a listen, if you don't mind synthasizers in black metal.
