If this is in the wrong board I apologize but getting on the subject, Kids with a history of cutting school in Texas are going to have a GPS ankle bracelet that can't be removed and is worn full-time during the school year on and off of school grounds put on them in order to track them down if they run away or are not in school. Theres more information here: http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Aug23/0,4670,GPSMonitoringTruants,00.html All I'm saying is that we need to do something about this. Its only a matter of time until were all forced to wear these as citizens because our government just wants to ensure that were safe and sound here in the "land of the free".

Its about time they came out with something, instead of having to track each and every individual person down each and every day . Pretty sad i might say.
I never skipped school so it wasn't a problem for me . Maybe children will learn more rather than hanging the streets causing trouble;-);)

I doubt that the forcing kids into a seat will help them learn the Law of Sines. True, they need to be in the seat to learn it, but ... horses and water come to mind. (Especially when the horse resents this particular river.)

(OK, bad analogy, kids who hate school aren't horses, they are...)

Maybe children shouldn't all be expected to all learn in the same manner and forced into a cookie cutter system. This money would be better spent on things like Alt highschools.

Skipping school doesn't amount to crime.

I skipped school every day, and dropped out, and I'm not a criminal.

    Man....
    everyone's fucking brainwashed.

There are the kids that need real role models and guidance, something their schools probably don't offer.

Seconded. Some kids just don't fit into the mold of the average high school. They can't or won't adapt and are pushed aside and forgotten in the pursuit of higher standardized test results.

Homeschooling is ideal, as are alternative forms of education. The modern educational system is designed to force students into conforming to a status quo that encourages a lifestyle of "go to work, come home, go shopping, go to sleep, get up the next day and do it all over again, retire if you can afford to, then die".

People like Fricknfrack are the results of the brainwashing that takes place in our culture.
