Hey, this is different from the Buddhism and Drugs threads because well as you can see the point is that drugs are coming first as they will for many people. Do people think that druggies can benefit from studying Buddhism?
Does it really matter what anyone else thinks? Will knowing the answer to this question free anyone from greed, ill-will or delusion? Will it lead to the holy life? HTML:
I personally believe drug use can lead to enlightenment in one's mind if one is responsible and honest about their use. Drug users experience transcendence all the time, they just do not notice it or take the time to pinpoint the experience. It helps a lot to focus on the nature of the experience. From this one can learn of personal enlightenment.
i think these two can very well go hand in hand when it comes to the idea of diving into the mind and controlling it as well as being spiritual.
Tibetan Buddhists used to have a pipe with 5 bowls. One for cannabis, and four others to potentate cannabis' effects. Opium, Datura, Oleander, and something else were worked with. And most likely still are. So there ya go.
it depends, if you NEED drugs, then when you do not have them you are suffering, you desire something you can't have. But if you don't need them IE not addicted, then they are only there to elevate your mind,
