What our generation needs is a common ground and understanding, coming from this generation i see so many people shunning others based on simple things (i.e what you wear, how you look, etc.) it is rare when i see two people that are total opposites having a conversation. This generation is too dependant on the internet and television, we are slowly becoming the generation of degradation, we have no true hopes for this world we live in. The people that do are automatically labeled an outcast which makes it hard for alot of young people who want to do something, to show up at protests to actually do some change.

I am starting to realize that it's going to lie on a few of us young folks to change this society we live in, from now on I am more than willing to do my part and whoever else's part will not be done.

 

Folks just need to open their minds a little.

I never liked hip-hop much (ugh!!!), but then I got turned onto Immortal technique. Go to youtube and search...

Too many individuals being independent and doing their own thing... But WE are all in this together, so we should not be worrying about folks not connecting... We may just need to wait a bit more until more folks are effected badly enough.

It really does not help when some of the most visible activists are idiots. Gives the rest of us a bad name.

 

I couldn't agree with you more. I remember one time in class a teacher asked us all what our life goals were if we figured them out yet. So he asked most of the kids in the class and everyones answer was "to get rich" or "to live in a mansion" it made me kind of sad really it seemed like thats all that was important to them. Well I've been playing guitar for some couple of years now and I havent put it down since I first picked it up I really love playing music with people. so at least I can say that about myself.

I think we should wake the fuck up!

The world is full of filthy rich powerful pigs,who only care about their own wallets - No mather what, or who is getting worser of it

There is a massive ignorant, naive youth who only care about their carreer!

I'm thinking about it very often , and it makes me very sad ( Mostly I get depressed about it )

My own son is 4 years removed from high school & at 22 years old he & most of his friends are apathetic at best of the majority of today's social issues that loom before them. Almost nothing excites them and very little generates even mild interest. Feeling somewhat powerless in a totally unresponsive system, they shrug their shoulders over the prospect of having no heating fuel this winter or put down voting because “it never makes a difference, nothing ever gets better.” Their attitude reflects a disillusionment with America that is I fear is widespread & growing.

Now when our generation was feeling powerlessness in the same unresponsive system , many of us mobilized as one voice ,and forced America to take a look at herself.

Dissatisfied with the world we inherited and following a pattern of dissent from our parents’ generation, the “counter-culture” emerged which rejected many of the fundamental values of American society
I can only hope that the youth of today finds its voice, finds its motivation, and endeavors to preserver- because as gardener said before me (in the qoute)" We are tired ",and yes- it is your time
