by understanding how dreads dread/lock up, we can constitute some ways to rapid things up. hehe.

i dunno, is it the sweat + natural oils that binds it up, i dunno. enlighten me sirs and ma'ams.

it's because your hair doesnt have sweat or natural oils that it knots, you wash it with residue free soap and your hair isnt conditionned anymore so it slowly knots with natural hair movement, one knot at a time and thats it you cant rapid things up really

that's the natural way of growing hair really, anyone who wouldn't comb would get dreadlocks if they dont use regular shampoo who isn't even supposed to exist.

i explained it like this in another thread
when you take a rope or extension cord or for that matter a string of christmass lights (since they are always tangled)
and instead of coiling them neatly you just toss them in a box and forget em fopr a long time what happens? they get all tangled up in knots.. if you dont inknot them (combing when applied to hair) and instead just toss them back in the box they get more and more tangled with movement and compression

dreads need 3 things to dread
    movement
this creates loops that grab eachother and tangle
compression sleeping on them wearring hatys or just theyre own weight cause the knots to compress and tighten
    and time
time lets knots build ontop of knots and become more complex and eventualy become good solid dreads

and by twisting and ripping, we simulate the "movement". haha. a good excuse for doing so. :cheers2::cheers2::cheers2:

hey, that didnt solve the query, we all know it would eventually lock up but im trying to ask, "what makes it bind?" ..like, what reactions happen.

stop worrying sbout the loose hairs they will alwayds be there...but only you will notice them when u crochet though you break hairs all over the place creating more ends to pop out
use a lil aloe to control the feizz if u really need to but u dont noboidy but you notices it.. also wash your hair, dont ya think they'd be more upset over dirty hair that looks greeasy or smells funky then they would be aboiyt a couple loose hairs?
look around the school does everyone have every single hair tamed and in its perfect place or do they just comb and style the best they can and when wind humidity and life misplaces a few hairs they dont woeey bout it that much till they gotta go through the whole comb style and tame process all over again

if u wanna look neat for scholl just keep em clean as u can and tie em back or put em up in a tam or something..
constant crochetting can lead to broken dreads
