I just got all my textbooks, then my mom realized her friend has the books used and gave them to me. So I just spent 500 on books which I now have duplicates of. I can't return them to the school because they are out of the shrink wrap, but otherwise they are in perfect condition and have everything. Should I hold onto them until next semester then try to sell them, or should I try listing them on Half.com or Amazon.com? How do you get rid of your old textbooks? It seems that since all schools have started already, I'm shit out of luck . And I'm poor.
See if there's a bookstore in your area that has used textbooks. If they accept them, see the price they offer you, if it's about $350-400 it's good, but yeah try amazon or alibris.
AMAZON!!! i sold almost a grand worth of textbooks on amazon, and they went like hotcakes. this is the perfect time to sell them too. offer expedited shipping, and that'll help. seriously, i sold them in a week.
I think it will be a little harder because it's a community college, the text books I assume are slightly cheaper? Maybe... they aren't 350 by any means. Most are around 80-170 a piece. If I could sell them for even 50.00 each I'd be happy.
I have a lot of my textbooks on amazon. It sucks though because you get a small fraction of what you paid for them. I just need to get rid of them because I'm about to graduate and move out. Moving books is a pain in the ass.
at the end of the semester the campus bookstore should accept them and give you some cash, my school did that that is the time when everyone either dosnt need their books anymore or needs new ones
Post notices on boards at school. Some community colleges have websites with areas for students to sell books etc. You can also google "textbook buy back" and get results there *but they don't pay as well as the others so keep that in mind. Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist are my first stops when I buy books If you paid $500 for the books, getting the $350-400 SunDweller mentioned would be a reasonable return on your money.
