same here. Occasionally I take some advil,or some booze and maybe some antacid. The only things I have ever had a prescription it has been dental work related-antibiotics and pain killers,,,and I never took all the pain killers.
Nopes, I self-prescribe herbs (well, I'm at least qualified to do so) and I take multivits. Besides that, last meds I had were antibiotics like.. 3 years ago.
I'm not on any meds but if I start getting anxiety again you can bet I'll get me some lorazepam and some prozac...
When it comes down to it I have found there is a herbal form of medicine that works just as well as most prescription medicines. The problem is no herbal medicine is supported by the FDA and there are very few doctors who have not been bought out by pharmaceutical company's . So if you want to find what you looking for find a herbal specialist or start researching them on your own. Do not ask the people at the health food stores, most of them only have basic knowledge of herbs. Also your own mind is a very powerful tool.
I believe in the value of prescription medecine, but I think as a society we are in a state of overuse caused by a variety of factors (quick solutions, drug advertisements). Illnesses (especially mental) tend to be highly personal, however. It isn't for me to tell someone who believes they need medecine that they can't have it. Personally, though, I've never taken anything besides antibiotics and Zyban (which worked miracles for quitting smoking).
