I could never ever have an abortion but unfortunately there are alot of girls who would. I have to be honest and say I dont think we should make abortion illegal. I would rather people had the choice, I would rather children only be brought into the world that will be loved, looked after properly and have the best of life.
I also find the propaganda used by pro-life supporters to be dis-tasteful and unneccessary.

It's too tricky a subject for there to be one right view and a complete solution.

 

I have none. And it's a very simple reason why.

Because I'm a male. I'll never have to make that choice. I feel I have no say in that matter. It is not a man's matter to deal with. Leave it to women.

 

So I take it you're a vegetarian? If not.. you might find Peter Singers work on ethics very interesting

 

In any case, that baby's well into the second trimester, almost third. And I'm very sure there is a limit on when a fetus can be aborted, excluding danger caused to the mother, that is.

 

I would never do it myself but by the same token I wouldn't deny anyone's right to do it.

 

that seems like a cop out to me; either way you should have some opinion on what's right and wrong, and you certainly should have some say in the matter if it's a question of morality in the world.
your argument that "it's not a man's matter" seems pretty mindless.

I think it's unfortunate that so many people regret having abortions.... When, the child would have likely been born into regretful situations to begin with. Yeah, bring more unwanted babies into the world, so they can be abused and exploited...

Why do we fear death, so? Sometimes, being born is much worse than death. At least in death, one has the chance to escape a wretched life, thus moving on to (hopefully) a better one.

you guys who are pro-life have no idea what we have to go through when it comes to abortion. a while back i thought i was pregnant. before i found out i wasnt i was researching abortion clinics and trying to figure out how to get the money! i went through hell! there's no way i would be able to support a happy and healthy child. i get very angry when i think that the right of abortion could be taken away...god, i should leave america as soon as possible...

But ehm.. native american? Interesting! I have a US penpal who is partly native american (forgot the exact bloodline he's from, could look it up for ya) and who's very interested in his 'roots' but doesn't have a lot of ways of getting information about it because of his situation (long story).. care to share some more info about it? i dont find that to be sad at all. you know why? the fetus didnt even write that. you know why? because it doesnt think that. you know why? BECAUSE IT CANT THINK.

 

There is a difference between rational thoughts (something a newborn doesn't have as well.. so I guess you would think it's ok to kill a 2 days old baby as well?).. and being capable of feeling pain and having fear (something a fetus is capable of).

 

I'm not certain on this but I don't think you make the claim that that fetues knows fear. Regardless, embryos cannot because an embryo is a cell cluster.
And the fact remains that in this country, all people are to be created equal. A man has the right tot choose when he will have a family every day of his adult life, and for this to remain a free society, women must also maintain that choice.

 

Continually reborn to mothers who abort you? I find that highly unlikely...

I'm glad that your life has been happy and fulfilling and that you cannot conceive of the notion that sometimes death is better than life. I sincerely hope that your world doesn't change.

I for one know the suffering that some have done, at the hands of those who birthed them. And some of these lives would have been better off, not happening at all.

Children endure tortures... Tortures that change them in horrible ways.

Why would anyone wish to bring a child into such a life?

If abortion isn't right for you, don't have one. But don't force a person that does not want a child, to carry and birth it.

 

Personally I think that when a woman has an abortion (for every other reason then being raped or medical reasons) I think she should be forced to take birthcontrol for the next.. let's say.. 3 years or so. It can be done, because you can get it through injections that the doctor gives you every couple of months.

I mean.. if the woman really doesn't want to have children than she wont be botherd by this.. and if she does want to have children within such a limited time from the abortion, then why the hell did she remove the child in the first place?

i beleive that abortion should not be legal. i mean if god didnt want you to have a child than he wouldnt have let you get pregnant in the first place but if by mistake you got pregnant than god he is the only one that has the right to take your baby away from you. It is NOT your decision if your baby lives or dies. abortions cause alot of problems, and there are alot of risks. if you get an abortion your taking the risk of never being able to have a child again. facts of woman who have abortions:woman get depressed, hear their baby crying (in their head), anything to do with a baby they go hysterical over. so like i said It is NOT your choice if your baby lives or dies it is gods decision. ABORTION=MURDER.
