how does one go about making picture sizes smaller? i just bought a digital camera but can't upload any photos, and they are taking up way too much memory on my computer... they're all over 1MB, and they need to be waaaay smaller...

    thanks,

    Hey Tigerlily,
All you need is any photo editing software like from kodak or acdsee. www.download.com has some free ones too. 480x640 pixels is pretty standard for pictures especially if you want to upload them. Digital cameras are really good now. 1 megapixel is 1000 pixels and most cameras now are 3 to 4 megapixels. You could also just lower the resolution on your camera so your pics are smaller and you can fit more pics on your memory card.

You can do a lot of things. Resize with programs, save as a different file name (what do they save as on your camera? That may be changeable...)

Or you can upload them online. (I think you said you can't. Why not? photobucket.com is free)
