How will this play out?

 

I am sure it will be dramatized and played out by the media to no end.

At the same time, it does highlight the blatant hypocrisy of so many of these self-described "Christian conservative" politicians who pretend to center their lives around strong family values, as a way to rally "likeminded" voters behind them.

 

i imagine the conservatives will try to make her daughter look like a responsible young woman for keeping the baby and marrying the father. turn it into a pro-life thing...

They keep saying that this boy who got her pregnant wants to marry her. Are they sure of this? What if this kid wants to change his mind? I'am assuming he's just a teen himself.

 

and all those people, if they're reasonable, don't put their kids in chastity belts, lock them in the closet and call it perfect. FOR PETE'S SAKE, raising children isn't a perfect art. i'd be far more disgusted with her if she kicked her child out or tried to give her an exorcism than being disappointed but accepting.

 

I'll bet the VP candidate 'made him an offer he can't refuse' Marry my daughter or I'll cut your balls off.

 

As this is from a possible VP, a shotgun wedding is more called for!

I liked Obama's take on it. That the issues are the important thing and that he would not discuss the private lives of the candidates. What's really funny is that the Republicans are agreeing after they practically lynched Bill Clinton for his affair.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about her being pregnant. She's not going to be running the country when grandpa mcsame kicks the bucket, but her unqualifyed mother will be....and that scares me almost as mccane does.

Very true. But through all of human history- until the last half century or so in the USA- it was completely normal to have three or four kids by age 17, and more than ten by age 25.
