Additional: THe southeast is more densely populated due to the access to Europe via the Eurotunnel, ferries and the back of freight. We have more people per squaremile than the people in the entire City of Glasgow. More people probably means more capitalism and where imported labour comes into affect, means the local economy benefits. Therefore we have better facilities at universities, colleges and schools. And with the influx of new government measures, it isn't surprising why many northerners have been neglected. It is what most people know about North. It is more countryside. Not as many jobs and fewer prospects.

 

Great little movie, which is all very well but reading your point, for me, is saying;

But I'm sure a caring and compassionate fellow like yourself wouldn't be implying such an act, would you? Apart from anything else Scotland has a totally different education system to the English, though I understand GCSE's are taken. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

On a purely subjective level I've always found the Scots to be that little bit more advanced in their intellect, outlook on life and educational standard. Maybe that's because I'm a thick as shyte northerner, which is after all what the exams results stats are inferring. :dupe:

Sorry Roffa. I'll dip by cap and ask for forgiveness next time I offer my opinion, sir. It becomes territorial when people begin to give accounts of the north - south divide, which is as real as the distance over this land. As for being aggressive, well it must be uncomfortable for some people to be given and enjoy many of the luxuries of life when many others go without while having no justification other than; 'at least they don't live next to me.'

I pity the Northerners. I really do. Sorry but number one, it is colder up there, it rains alot, number two, the cities up north are mega cultural wastelands. Ironically the north sea oil would have came under Scottish ownership, which possibly would have provided a large portion of the funds needed for their own systems for providing public services. Joined with the vast amount of Scottish integration into the British society, which has contributed to its wealth Scotland can rightly feel it deserves what it gets with regard to the public purse. Does this also go for the other regions of the nation? But then this has nothing to do with the way Scotland educates their citizens, whether it's the Scottish Highers or their certificate of education. Or indeed they are thick shits or not!
