I knew that Moore in part was full of shit just by looking at his physical shape...I mean, he's got a strange form for a human being... I saw some of his other documentaries and knew of some of the mistakes he made (for example when he sees Canada as a peaceful place...but there are other ones too)... You can tell right away that this documentary is a roast for Bush - which doesn't fly too well. Ok, Bush is full of shit but, so are all the other presidents of the u.s. and, so are all OUR politicians too. The big one about Bush waiting 7 minutes after he knew of the wtc is a little ludicrous. After all, Churchill waited months before reacting to Hitler... I don't think that Bush ever had a manual on how he should react should there be civilian planes that hit buildings... So, good show Moore, I'm sure he'll get a few votes against Bush but, Bush is just another fucker - not better not worse than the others...
i have yet to see that or any other moore movie. just havent been in the mood for them really..... hey friend, happy thanksgiving
9/11 is nothing but the naked truth. Im grateful someone finally put it all in perspective and I think Moore has it dead on. Too much greed, a lot of need, in the world..Its like a cancer, sooner or later it kills everything.
The movie was good for the footage alone. It was also nicely put together. However, what Moore presents in this movie isn't even half of what really happened. I mean, most informed people already knew about everything Moore presented in his movie. It was sort of a dumbed-down version of the truth, which left out a lot of key information. Of course I am sure it had to be dumbed-down enough for the average person to enjoy. But if anyone wants to see a REAL documentary about 9/11, check out Alex Jones' 9/11: The Road to Tyranny. I really think Michael Moore is an idiot. I came to this conclusion after watching Bowling for Columbine, which was really nothing more than propaganda. Moore is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party. Plus, I just don't like the guy. I think he's arrogant and far too one-sided for most intelligent people who look at things with at least some degree of objectivity. Moore has become kind of like the poster boy for this very trendy, Republican-hating, mainstream left, group-think, college kid ideology, which I think is quite lame in itself.
that's a very good point; we tend not to think rationally when there's an opportunity to skin someone.
I am actually showing this movie at work next week to some 17 year olds. Before I show it I am obviously going to explain to them that it is biased and I am going to be unbiasedin my explanations of both sides. I loved Bowling for Columbine and Moores old HBO specials but this one idn't do much for me.
Here's a good article comparing Moore's movie to Jones'. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.breakfornews.com/Alex&Me.htm Alex & Me: Michael Moore's Better Half 'Dude, Where's the 9/11 Beef?' BreakForNews.com, 24th May, 2004 10aamET by Fintan Dunne, Editor The difference between Michael Moore and Alex Jones comes down to this: Moore profits from 9/11 --with 20/10 hindsight-- after the event. Whereas, Jones predicted 9/11 --on air in July, 2001; made a better movie: '9/11: Road to Tyranny'; and virtually gives it away. Moore's 'Fahrenheit 911' toys with the idea that 'they' Let It Happen On Purpose[LIHOP]. That's the lame version of reality for the popcorn-brained illiterate left. With backing from the HollyCorp establishment, Moore will now make a bundle. Jones' '9/11: 'Road To Tyranny' explains how 'they' MADE It Happen On Purpose[MIHOP]. This dangerous notion gets no establishment nod or wink. And Jones is so focused on the message -not the money- that he let's you copy the movie to educate others. According to the New York Post, Moore has ripped off Jones. So what else is new? "A real documentary by Alex Jones, had most of the "facts" Moore uses in his scatter-shot diatribe," wrote Richard Johnson in the Post's Page Six column. Moore thought NATO hotshot General Wesley Clarke was coming to save us from the BusheNazis. He promptly endorsed the documented war criminal of Serbia, during Clarke's ill-fated presidential nomination bid. By comparison, on his web site InfoWars.com, Alex Jones argues that Clarke and a host of other Trilateral-CFR-Bildeberg corporate front men --are but the velvet-clad, acceptable version of the same fascist fist. Moore plays to the labor union cliché: the 'Fat Cats versus the Workers' divide. It's blue collar, class-struggle nostalgia from the last century. Buying into it is about as hard as cheering for your home side at the game. Come tomorrow, you go back to work as usual. Moore is a quack doctor --tapping at your intellectual knee to get it to react as expected. For those who don't subscribe to knee-jerk politics, Jones offers a subtler film-noire vision, which will nag away at you and drag you face to face with the grim reality of geopolitical scheming. The kind of scheming which is happy to see the War Party in the U.S. play 'Bad Cop,' so that the globalist, 'Good Cop' corporate elite can come to riding to our rescue. Before & After Moore would have us believe that the political divide in the US is between downsized workers and big bosses. A divide straddled by Democrats and Republicans. But with two Skull & Bones society members --Kerry and Bush-- running against each other, that divide is starting to look increasingly fake. The only differences between the two have been contrived. The divide don't exist. 'Repubocrats' are one political establishment. However, Jones and Moore are on opposite sides of the real political divide. While Moore bangs his downsize drum, Jones has been on the real stories for a long time. The Waco Massacre was the point of cleavage. Moore's buddy Wesley Clarke was not far from Waco when terror became an overt tactic of the State. Maybe that's why Moore avoids these kinds of issues. Before long, the OKC bombing had shown state terror was also a covert option. The aptly named 'Controlled Demolition' helped clear the site of the OKC bombing. And the OKC trail leads us on to 9/11, where once again we find Controlled Demolition' lending their expertise clearing the WTC site. Those are the kind of links that ignite the attention of those who see the real movie about 9/11. The Alex Jones movie. Those are the kind of links that the establishment's performing whale won't touch. But don't just get 'The Road to Tyranny.' Get Moore's simplistic movie also. Believe me. When you finish watching Alex Jones' film, you're going to NEED a little comic light relief.
It was a good movie that got people to think and YES Pressed Rat is right in respect that if people did do research, they would have already knew what Michael Moore had put in the movie...one thing is, he got people that didn't know, to think..unless they didn't want to think our government or president was capable to do such things.
Just because it's from a different point-of-view, doesn't mean it's nessecarily un-biased and free of propoganda...
Honestly he, and his work, represents the sensationalism in the liberal movement. He does stretch the truth, and he does manipulate, no if's, and's or but's about that one. However, so does the opposing media forces, the difference being Moore presents his in an obviously entertaining fashion, while the anti-moore deem their bullshit as fact and gauge serious decisions based on said bullshit. More props to Moore, his heart is in the right place, and he's working twords the better good. If he brainwashes a few people, so be it, at least he's doing it for a good cause instead of trying to line his pockets like the others so often do. and Rat, Jones does in fact present his shit in the same format, video, as Moore. The fact that Moore is putting his shit in big-time theatre's does not mean he's trying to profit off it, he's trying to present it to a widespread audience. Jones work is limited to a small, and purposely seeking education, audience, while Moore's work will be seen by many more people because of the format (big movies) he's working within. The man does free speeches, free showings, free forums.... it's not an issue of money. It is sad he has to work within the movie biz, but he's really only exploiting it for the better good. For all we know all the profit he makes goes to charities and funding his upcoming works, as well as a sum to feed, clothe, and house himself and his family.
