Interesting photo. There have been pre-emptive raids against protesters homes even before any demonstrations began. Amy Goodman, host of DemocracyNow! was arresters with 2 of her colleages and have since been released. Reports of police violence against non-violent protesters is all over the internet, yet not a word reported about it on the national corporate media. Sickening.

Did this "pig" do anything to deserve that, or did they just attack him because of his uniform?

While I wouldn't doubt it, I must point out that that's exactly how the police view protesters. It doesn't really matter what they did, or if they did anything, because they all have it coming anyway. This logic is no better applied to cops than it is to protesters.

    Hey Zorba

we're really pissed off at how evil "our" government is.

I would gladly knock some guy on the ground who was macing my brothers and sisters.

    after all

there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who would PAY to fuck with a bunch of "hippies"

Most cops and people like that live in a world of stereotypes, and orders.

Private armies waiting in every city.

Here's a vid of what happened. There's a lot of different footage, but at 1:24 you clearly see why the cop was pushed to the ground.

All I can say is I wish someone had turned that mace on him. Actually could someone clarify this for me- what IS the stuff he's spraying?

Yeah he was definitely pushed to the ground!
Why else would he be there?
    Did he trip? haha

    Yeah, it's pepper spray.

i resent the idea that all police see protestors as animals. there was very little trouble with the policie in denver during the DNC. probably because everyone was behaving themselves for the most part. i don't like violent protestors. it makes me stop listening to them and consider them a bunch of idiots.

    I didn't say all, I said most.
I've known some awesome cops in my day.

I feel like a lot of cops aren't going to stand for some of the orders they will be given.

Although, that is their paycheck . .

    hmmmmm..........

i figure most cops just wanna go home at the end of the day, crack a beer and watch some tv. that's not gonna happen if people go acting all crazy and they have to respond. the paperwork, the questioning, the inquiries, the press.

'course there's those that are just annoying and WAITING WITH BATED BREATH for someone to step outta line. i figure, if you're trying to make a point, don't step outta line. i like the high road, it's a more defensible position and you can see a lot farther.

So what is out of line?

Are you not as angry as these monkeys?

    If not, why?

    These are universal energies clashing.
This is the calm before the storm.

i grew out of angry. i don't cry as much as i used to, either. totally got over the cutting myself thing before i left a mark. i dunno. i try my best to take care of my piece of the world, the people around me, try to make my best decisions and give support where i think it's warranted, remove support when i think they're unworthy.

my type of anger is always a flash in the pan, anyway.

    That's good, I respect that.

Some of us are still extremely angry at the evil that lurks around these lands.
The energies are clashing and it's not going to be pretty.

It's already disgustingly ugly. Perverse. Demented.
