Listen to this and tell me what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vRrGCVlMHk The song takes a while to build and does not really take off until around the 5:00 mark. Such beautiful music!
i love that song. it's like a brain massage. godspeed! you! black! emperor! is glorious. The car is on fire and there's no driver at the wheel... and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides. And a dark wind blows. The government is corrupt, and we're all on so many drugs with the radio on and the curtains drawn. We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine and the machine is bleeding to death. The sun has fallen down and the billboards are all leering and the flags are all dead at the top of their poles. It went like this: the buildings toppled in on themselves mothers clutching babies... picked through the rubble, and pulled out their hair. The skyline was beautiful on fire all twisted metal sretching upwards everything washed in a thin orange haze. I said "Kiss me, you're beautiful - these are truly the last days!" You grabbed my hand, and we fell into it, like a daydream, or a fever. We woke up one morning and fell a little further down. As sure as the valley of death I open up my wallet and it's full of blood.
these guys took me through my first journey with cubensisters. I love them, especially this piece. Thanks for reminding me..I've forgotten it for so long
I think "Motherfucker = Redeemer (Part 1)" might be my favorite, though . . ohh there are like laser rockets at the end . .
Rat, is Rochester a big town because I met a Rochester girl in Europe one night and lost her phone number. Sorry to derail the thread. How many albums do they have? I have Lift yer skinny fists and F#A#, but thats all the local record store seems to possess.
Aside from the ones you mentioned, there is also Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada, which is an EP, and also there's Yanqui U.X.O., which is their latest album from 2002. They haven't put anything else out since then. Yeah, Rochester is pretty big, but it's mostly the surrounding metropolitan area where most people live. It's not a huge city, but it's one of the major cities in New York along with NYC, Buffalo and Syracuse.
Actually it was Antennas to Heaven that has the beautiful laser rockets at the end... ahhhhhhh wonderful
Moya is my favorite song by my favorite group, but my absolute favorite instrumental might be Requiem For Dying Mothers Pts 1 & 2 by Stars Of The Lid.
Im going to have to go with Orient pt.1 & 2 by Don Cherry as best instrumental ever. Unless you count using your voice to chant incomprehensible love mantras as lyrics. Best musical moment ever in my opinion, comes about 15-20 minutes in during pt. 1 God Bless +
