Okay, so my beloved black boots finally broke. My love was too harsh on the poor darlings, I suppose... anyways, I went today looking for some new ones. And there, in the store, I saw them. Beautiful, black boots. Shiny, shiny, leather creeping up to the knee. Two sliver zippers on one side. OoOoO I had to put them on. So I slid my foot in, and... perfect fit. Like a second-skin. A match made in heavenly hell. The toe was sharply pointed, harsh yet allureing. The heel was perfectly shaped, curvy, like the curves of a beautiful women. A women like me, who was made to step in these boots. Just looking at them and your mind thought of dirty nights and loud guitars.... Oh shit. That's right, Guitars. If I buy these, I shall be left with no money to spend on guitar music. Ooohhh but how could I leave these things here when they are so beautiful? But alas, Oliver the guitar is my love, and I must put him first. So I did. I'm normally not attached to clothes/shoes, except for the black boots thing. And I tell you those were some NICE FRIKKEN BOOTS! But I guess it was worth it, I got some music books and some new socks. Hoo-ray for good days
I didn't catch the Venus in Furs reference, but I'm glad you didn't get the leather boots. They sounded very sexy and kickin though
Now BLEED FOR ME DAMNIT! hahaha... Oh, I know. And you're right. Leather is cruel. Most of the things I own are fake leather. I really shouldn't buy leather... but... eh, I know, no excuses. I can't tell the difference between real and fake anyways, so there's no reason I need it.
I was never a big boot fan myself, made me feel too.. not me but they're fun on cowboys (i mean the real cowboys, the one who come home for breakfast and eat up your fridge)
Yea, it is cruel. And you're right.. I don't think anyone can tell the difference. If only more people would go the cruelty-free way! I never really like boots on myself either. I don't even really like shoes lol. So most of the time I just wear some old sandals or something. But boots are still hot on some people! Not necessarily cowboys though lol.. *shudders*
Yeah, leather isn't that great of a choice (in my opinion) and even for those self centered people who don't care about animal cruelty it tends to be more expensive, so every one seems to lose. I own quite a few boots actually. My favorite pair are combat boots (like the ones worn in Vietnam). Once broken in they are really nice and good even though it makes people aggressive towards me or may be my band shirt offends them or may be they are just angry in general because their precious TV lies to them. who knows, but to keep this rant some what relevant: I like boots because they are nice and I say get a nice a pair that aren't leather.
I think this is the reason that "hippies" usually go barefoot. Birkenstocks can be fucking expensive.
