I bought the DreadheadHQ kit. I did the backcombing method and they look pretty good right now. I've only had them for about two days. After backcombing I put some wax on, but only a very very little amount. I don't really like how it feels so I'll probably stop. Everyone on this websites seems to be a dreadlock "purist" and only promotes natural dreadlocks. So no wax, accelerators, lock peppa, and so on. Yet many other websites say the opposite. I'll probably go somewhere in the middle of the two. Because I can't be sure which is right. I have found a lot of negative comments on different websites about wax. So I'm not going to wax anymore. But I have a couple questions: 1) I have a bottle DHHQ shampoo on my desk. Its there, so I might as well use it. There's nothing wrong with it, right? 2) What do you feel about lock peppa? I have a container of that and it does help a lot with tip rubbing and clockwise rubbing. 3) Locking accelerator? I already have the stuff so I might as well use it, right? I know how a lot of you feel about buying products. But now that I already have them, with the exception of wax, I feel I may as well keep using them.
throw away er lock peppa its jus going to make a flakey mess that all it is sticxky flakes..rosin and crap i hae no ides whats in the acaleratorbut i bet its crap toio use only sea salt mixed with water...thats all u need the shampoo is ok but not great it wont harm you or help the reason theres thiousands of sites saying se wax is they have an affiliate sca,m they giuive diuscounts if u nakje a sire promoting theyre crap linking to them so the nets flooded with thousands of lies and results in manyt many sticky headed dreads they are responciblke for the durty dread image .. use the shamppoo till u get bronners send the rest back and demand your money back..u wont get it but if everyone harmed by them demands theyre money back they mnay get the message
Take the elastics out. Ultimately they will break down into some funky rubber gunk that is a pain in the ass to get out.
uea elastics alsio hinder the dreading process dreads must move to dread and elastic melt and dry rot and ger swallowed insude the dreads to always be a sticky gross mess ignore everythijg those sites tell u \dreads take jno effort and no products and cost nothoinmg to get
If you've only had them a few days what you worrying about tip rubbing and such for. Just do fuck all for 6 months.
haha yea ignore all the crap from that site they cant sell u gunk like wax to glue yoiur hair together without also sellimngu the idea of a complicated process that theyre gunk makes easier dont rumn dont twist just leave em alone if u absentmindedly play with em thats fine but u dont gotta do nithin else at all
^^^^^^^^^ hear hear lol the first time i had dreads i went by those corporate bs'ers and ended up taking them out cuz they were so gross and had really bad vibes too
keep the shampoo and I think the lock peppa wouldn't do any harm too.. (never used it myself) but do not use too often.. I'd say.. Well elastics.. it depends on what kind you use.. you've got the very tight little ones which don't break.. no problem but not longer than a month. You've got the sticky ones which melt because of the sun, they often break after a week orso.. so I don't really see the problem (or it must be very hot where you live).. You've got the sticky ones which melt because of the sun and don't break off.. I would takes those out.. I used rubber bands the first few weeks/months.. didn't do no harm, just take 'm out after some time, cause it will only cause weak spots in the dreads if you don't. They're often put it because it looks better (for jobs/school or whatever) and because it makes the backcombing easier.. but not that nescesary.. oohhh longest post I ever made....
the lock peppa that i used religiously for several months caused my dreads to weaken and some even broke off when i was separating them. it's really not worth it. throw it out. the shampoo is great. bronners doesn't work for me, and that shampoo really did. so i can't say anything bad about it. although i like avalon organics best. you'll find what shampoo works for you. take the elastics off. i found one in my dreads a couple weeks ago that had somehow escaped and lasted the entire year i've had my dreads... it was disgusting black gum and it was so gross. just take them out, you definitely don't need them. the locking accelerator won't hurt your dreads probably, but i dumped mine out and filled the bottle with sea salt water. worked just fine. you paid for something, at least use the nice spray bottle. good luck!
the dreadheadhq scam u paid 70 dollars for a 1$ metal flea ciomb a plastic bittle and thatfrs it 2 whole dollars worth of usefull stuff well the shampo if u ciunt that... u can make your own shampoo better for a buck otrr 2 ph yealets not forget theyre lovely dvd on how to totaly fucjk up your dreads...lol
