    complete agree 100%

the original director's ending was so much better and really 'makes the film'

and well, like you said bears more meaning to the title than what the actual cinema release did.

to be honest i looked at this film with skepticism but after a good watch, i thought it was quite good.
the concept of a guy driving around a ghost town doing precisely whatever the fuck he likes was pretty dam impressive.
it could of had a much better ending though.

The talk of alternate endings and 28 Days Later just reminded me. You know how you don't see the main guy anymore after they escape the army camp (when he gets shot)?

You know how the rescuers at the end find the survivors living in a desolate farmhouse, keeping chickens for food?

Someone I know took the fact that this guy isn't seen anymore (I believe an alternate ending had him dying of the gunshot) and the fact that they had chickens, and somehow put these together in his mind to interpret that he'd got infected and turned into a chicken.

    WHAT.

    THE.

    FUCK.

Thinking back on it, I reckon Abby the dog was the best actor in the film. She should get her own movie, like a revival of Lassie or something. Or they could make a movie about Laika, the first dog in space. I hope she has a good agent.
