I was fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd on their "Animals" Tour. I lived in Florida at the time, and I went with a close-knit group of good friends; we saw Pink Floyd at the Tampa Stadium. It was one of the most memorable concerts I have ever attended; the group was extremely professional and played to chart.

I recall that during that era, Pink Floyd was a forerunner in their use of electronics in their music and visuals, and this concert I speak of was the first live concert that a lot of us had seen in which an extensive amount of electronics was used. They had a huge covered area in the center of the football field that contained what appeared to be several dozen technicians who operated all of the electronics stuff to make their show/music happen, and it was so
exciting! As well, there were four huge arrays of speakers at the top of four sections of the stadium seats; opposite each other, like surround sound.

The concert began with "Sheep", and as a soft warm wind blew throughout the stadium, the sound of sheep baa-ing began to emit from the first gigantic speaker array. Then, it transferred to the next speaker array opposite the first one from whence it came. Then, to the next one; then the next one. Then, as it got a little louder, it picked up speed until the sheep sounds were swirling all around the top of the stadium - it was so fantastic!

Then, the four Pinks appeared on the stage down in front, and it was all dark 'cept they were wearing long white robes that looked purple from the black lights that illuminated the stage. They played for approximately three hours straight - no intermission. They said absolutely nothing the entire time; they just played their music andsang for like, three hours; then they left. It was amazing, and we still talk about it!

Richard Wright is one of the blessed in that he will continue to influence others after he is no longer present in body. We are blessed in that we can still feel him, not only through listening
to and relating with his music and lyrics; but as well, we have been eternally affected by the perspective that was uniquely his.

I shall carry him here, inside; right next to a few others that have influenced my life.

    Sincere Regards, Michaela
