One of my friends told me that all psilocybin does is burn brain cells so fast that you start to trip. I however, called him a dumbass because i highly doubt that that is the reason you start to trip. But, do shrooms kill a lot of brain cells?

your tv kills more for sure

  3. Agreed.

And they wont kill brain-cells, they will open the mind to a whole new perception...

    Just do it.

in my opinion pscilosyben opens certain parts of your brain that are not normally openend which makes you "feel" like your tripping because your not used to that side of life. also on the visual side i believe that the alkaloid stimulates creativity in your visual cortex which then displays them to you as visuals. or something like that lol

As far as we know (scientifically that is) psilocin has a rather large effect on our serotonin receptors. The catch is we aren't sure exactly where in the brain this is taking place, nor do we know the "manner" in which it's done.

From my own experiences with "magic mushies", I'd say that they definetely act somewhat as a "truth serum". I only say this, because whenever I "trip" the capability to deal with even minute amounts of hmmm bullshit if you will is greatly decreased. One cannot worry nearly as much, or they will have what so many refer to as a "bad trip". I've never had one myself, because I try to never allow the "bullshit" to take over to much of my mind, under the influence of mushies or not. If one just goes with the flow, they see things more vividly and experiences things on a much deeper level. Often due to this ability to "see deeper" or simply perceive without as many biases (bullshit) people learn a thing or two. So, is there any scientifc evidence that proves psilocin kills brain cells? No, and based on my own experiences along with observing others I'd say there's no logical evidence either.

As is always said man, "experience speaks for itself," so try em yourself if you haven't and want to know what they are really like.

i have heard that the chemical simulates the setionin or w/e and instead of being like E, where it actually uses it, your just kinda tricks you into thinking you feel good or something...haha i dont know exactly but it makes sense because it really is all in your head. If you think bad thoughts, then you have a bad time, The drug alone doesnt make you happy, you do. So really, you make you trip. psychedelics just make it easier for you to do so.

it is actually possible to enter that state of mind without drugs though... I dont think you get as high or see any visuals though hah

You'll never enter a mushroom state of mind without a mushroom, I promise you that.

You can be in a heightened state of awareness, but it is not as silly as psilocybin makes you.
Being alive is pretty silly, I will admit.

These are alkaloids, they cause chain reactions.
    You can't smoke serotonin
    but you can smoke dimethyltryptamine.

too bad you can't just pick that stuff out of your nose.

I know plenty of people who have touched samadhi without ever touching psychedelics.
