Ok so I'm at 3 1/2 month natural switched to bronner recently and diluted it a lot more then at first 1/12 now so it's OK but I'm pretty sure it leaves residue in my hair so any advices?

Looks kinda glued there no haha? I'll try a deep cleanse or something and see what it gives and maybe switch back to my old soap and not use bronner so much.

Ya man, try the deep cleanse and maybe cut out the bonners. Its just not right for some people. I like Kirks all natural castile soap, for me anyways, deff doesn't leave anything oily.

when u sau i diluted 1/12 was that 1 part water 12 bronners or.. 1 bronners 12 watrer.. u want 12 times as much water as dr b
if ity left that much residue thats very unusual either u hadiut nowhere near as diluted (i use it undiluted withoiut anyt residue) or its soft water..or u just didnt rince well

or maybe used way too mucj? isthe hair usualt very oilt?

I was thinking the same thing eagle. If anything bronners leaves my hair very dry and course feeling and my hair is naturally oily on its own.

Nah I used the good Liquid Bronner soap peppermint and another sent called citrus, at first I used too much yea but at the second wash I used 1 part bronner 12 part water maybe even less, made my hair dry but it's as if the soap didnt rinced out and stayed there whatever I did so I gave it a good wash yesterday and uh, now I got nothing left, just my normal hair which is very weird since it was doing alright since almost 4 months, I combed and it was very easy not knotty that much so yea... I'll continue growing my hair for a month or two and backcomb I don't know if I can do it naturally at least I would have tried.

Maybe it didnt worked because of the way I wash (too gentle?) I wasnt rubbing and shaking my hair so much, like very little rubbing, it was clean with the old soap I used but not with bronner but both worked good I guess, my hair was knotty but I'm not so sure now that it was so easy to get rid of. I'll try backcombing I'm pretty sure it'll work.

My hair naturally is oily yes but since the first time I used natural residue free soap 4 months ago it turned dry and not oily at all, I could go without a wash in a week and it wasnt that dirty or oily.

Dr. Bronner's definitely isn't the magic soap for everyone! Our well water is way too hard to even consider using it often. I only use Dr. Bronner's if I absolutely need to wash my hair because it leaves so much residue behind.

I just wash my hair once or twice per week with hot water, about a 1/4 cup baking soda, and a little tea tree oil. Baking soda definitely does the trick for removing oils, residue, and my crappy psoriasis dandruff.

yea i do agree the baking soda seems to work best but also it tends to loosen mi9ne up alot after iu use it the loose frizxzzies double and 1 dread that used to end in 2 6 inch gaggeedty drewads with 2 roundish sorta like bud like lumps stickin out 1 of the 2 buds somehowbecame less bud like and more dreadlike
im not complaing bout that ..lol just it seemed to unravel it za good bit

i kinda wish i used it lasttime tho instead of dr b cause my scalps lil on the bad side this week too

i use the bakin soda more often then dr b lately, but im not so sure its the best for new dreads
when i use it they seem alot fuzzier more areas seem to come loose and some of the baby xdreads seem to barely hold together (and be far too soft to really wanna knot) but when i use dr b they seem to tighten up better
beenm experimentinmg with different bakin soda fotmulas to try to minimuze that overfuzzing tendency

Baking soda worked good for me (I guess) Now I have no idea if I did it OK or not since after 4 months it didnt worked like as I thought my hair won't dread naturally at least I gave it a good try.

I'll backcomb this weekend and see where it leads me, I hope it'll work. It should work.

i dont even bother diluting anymore. I use my own technique, and its extremely simple. If you have a bottle, you're int he shower right. So you just put some soap in your palm, then put it under the water a bit so some of it washes away, and then start scrubbing a section of your hair. Do this till you have scrubbed all over your head. When i put the soap in my palm i only put a few drops, so you have to do this a few times to get all over your head. You can do the same thing with bar soap as well, just get your hands soapy and put them under the water.

soinds wasteful u put some in yourt hand only yo then wash it down the drain then u kee4po doing that mamny times
when u dulite it u make a lil go a long way not make a loy go a little way
if u dlute in the bottle it all stays in the bottle

no not really, i dont wash it down, i just put a like 3 drops on my hand, then run it under water. Plus when i dilute in a bottle, i end up not using it all, plus its way more work.

Yeah I found a shampoo that works good just not sure if I can do them natural ... would take me like 5 years to get a dread so I'll backcomb and see if it works with the same soap.

Oh and drews I used the same 'technique' as you and yea it works, but bronners leaves so much residue in my hair so eh.

Eurgh. That's just what Bronner's does to my hair... evening diluting to 1:12 or more. Which shampoo did you find that works well? By the way I bet if you tried to backcomb now you'd do okay, you have awesome curly hair. But your hair would also dread up very fast going natural, which would be cool :)
