To transcsend the produce-consume-breed-die repeat cycle?

    Any ideas?

    Is it even possible?

    Worth it?

What do you think, how do you feel, and what do you know?

Is there anything more to life than just being a superficially happy gear, turning to the whims of factory, state, school and church?

The only thing i can think of is just leaving civilization and live in the back country of alaska.

But surely there are other ways.

While I can support the romantic notion of running off to the wild/leaving society for good, I think the romance is more in a hypothetical situation than the actual one. Bottom line, I'm afraid it would be both a gratifying experience but also an unsatisfying, lonesome life. The greatest way to arise above the negatives of society are to fill up on as many of the positives as you can. Remember where true happiness comes from--human interactions and human touch, giving as much love to others as you can, peace with yourself.

If you can love your body the way it is, rather than hating it for not looking like the ones on magazine covers, you have risen above the superficiality.
If you can look past the way someone dresses, the religion they follow, the family they were born into, you're above the superficiality.
If you realize the amount of money in your wallet is far less important than the attitude you carry, you're above the superficitality.

I don't think consumerism is necessarily an evil; it provides jobs, it provides the things we need and want. It only becomes evil if we are tricked into thinking those things we "want" are essential to our happiness. As for breeding and dying, they are only mundane when mentioned like this, not when they actually happen. It's not part of society's cycle, it's part of life's cycle!

I hope all this makes sense. As long as you vow to make your life worthwhile, and do not allow the world to jade you into forgetting all the wonderful things it offers, then you've already risen above the social norm. And if you can help others see the beauty in themselves and in life, then you are changing society for the better -- which is better, I think, then leaving it without a trace.

Sure theres an escape...you just refuse to be a part of it , and do your own thing....the Amish are a prime example of people who are doing just that.
I try very hard to limit how much I patronize big business and fill their pockets...I refuse to use fast food chains...I only use electricity when I HAVE to and do all my laundry by hand and hang it out to dry....
I food shop once a week and only buy what I need to survive.....Im not as self sufficient as the Amish...im not as cut off from the world..but , I surround myself with MY version of the world , the way I want it.

ah the real problem comes out of the closet!

You are unhappy with your current living situation but the truth of the matter is YOU ARE IN CONTROLL OF YOUR OWN SITUATION.

Lemme guess, you hate your job,you hate how little money you make, probably don't have a girlfriend, and live in a shitty enviroment. Honestly you need to get your priorities straight and stop whining. Look into a religion there you will find true happiness. It comes from inside. You can't buy it,you cant steal it, you can't force it, you just have to find it on your own. Deep down inside you need to have peace with yourself. Be content with your situation and it will get better. And most importantly don't lose focus of your faith and stay irie at all costs.

yeah, you pretty much nailed my condition with the hammer.

except i know that i am in control of my destiny, mostly

my problem is mainly just finding a decent trade or skill that i can make a living with so i can start making my way to living life how i want it. but theres something unseen that is bugging me.

ive already wasted 18 years of my life, and im not going to waste another year. i know what i want, i just have trouble knowing how to get there.

going to have to change we run the world

they seem to think its alright doing it this way

    everybody learns the same

they gots to build the base on that probably already did

only thing left is to push this idea forward with more advances

or make something happen to change the way they have us built on towards the same path

perfectly semetrical land owning ideas never solved anything
