    hi all!

i need help...ever since i started my dreads my scalp is all flaky and itchy it seems like i got dandruff or something... at first i thought the reason for this was my occasional dread washing ( i was my dreads 2 to 1x a week) i use the dreadheadhq residue free dread shampoo and still after i wash them when i scrape my scalp i get this residue like white wax like thingy i dont know what is it if its dry scalp skin or what and so i just let them be for a very long time...

my dreads are now 3 years old and still i got the same problem am considering cutting my dreads because it affects my work (some people thinks i got some kind of deaseas for the white flakes i got on my shoulder). Am gonna post a pic asap of my scalp.

    Please help...

maybe this would be helpful my dread history:
    1. i used backcombing supplied by dreadheadhq.
    2. used there wax but only fw of them just for the first week then didnt used them anymore.
    3. i use the shampoo dreadheadhq supplied.
    4. i live in a tropical country (dunno if it has any connections)
    5. i use crocheting form time to time with wax.

    Thanks!

ok well u made alotta mistakes
dint crochetty dont use wax ever
if theyres shampoo isnbt doingt the trick use dr bronners ..dilkurted 12 parts water 1 part dr bronners
the teatree oil 1 .. add a dropperfull of rose, mary oil to the undiluted bottle beforee diluting

use the deep cleandse monthly at least
    and
    get that wax out
read the entire sticky wax sticky
for the deep cleanse and wax removal

any other alternatives i can use to get free from this dry, itchy and flaky scalp? i also tried washing this scented dishwashing liquid, diluted it to water it works ok and smells good too but still i get the dry itchy flaky scalp.

any other options that i could buy on supermarkets or groceries?

    bronners is best
    but
baking soda 1/4 yo 3/4 cup mixed in sa gallon of water
2 tablespoons sea salt 2 of lemmin juice 10-20 drops teatree oil and rosemarty soak your dreads thoroughly and leave it on up to 1/2 hour rince well

dont use disgwashing stiff sont use anytthing unnatural
dr bronners is the purest soap u can get but dilute it 12 to 1
    (12 water 1 dr b)
    teatree and erosemary help alot

use the liquid diluted 12 parts watrer 1 part soap
frizz i got lil more themm usual nut noit bad ignore it
]it will be better soimedays worse others dont do niothing and it will slowly get better but will never be gone..its fine as is
if its really bad a day use alowe gel 100% pire aloe gel either from the plant iotselfg or the stuffsold sas food in the refridgerated section of health food stores
dilyre it some 2 to 1 i guess or more
wipe it on each dsdread or spray it on
    let it dry
    dont uise alot or often
    it rinces clean tho

each hair u pilled in bu crochet created moreends to pop ouy
    so exctra frizz
fit over time threy will settle down
just get allllll the wax out
it mnay friz more then for a few days
    but they will tighten after

    i do weekly
lately i use deep cleandese as often as soasp but mine are tight and mature the deep cleanse makes em very sift and lil extra frizz but so clean
i alternate alot 1 week dr bronners next deep cleanse
but dso what feels rifgt ti u

u might do the extra deep cleanse with wax removal orage oil and extra hot eawter thenuse broinners for a month or 2 before next deep cleanse

Same problem with the frizzies and dandruff. When you use the deep cleaning concoction, it gets mad itchy for the half hour that you leave it on your head. after u rinse it out no more dandruff and itchiness for at least 2-3 days then the dandruff comes back. I use the deep cleaning formula once a week so its 2-3 days of no dandruff and 3-4 days with alot of dandruff. its a cycle for me, no permanent solution for the dandruff just yet.
As for the frizzies (typical problem for crochet dreads, i think) im just kinda hoping that they settle down in time and lock by themselves.

yea i wash mine when my dandruffs too bad to stsand anymore
usualy 2 or so days safter it starts drivin me crazy

i dont think there is a permenant soulution

maybe if u trewatted it with straight teareewea nd rosemary heavily aewhile but that could make yiour hgair too oily

if i wasnt so azy id try the deep cleanse every 2-3 days for a few weeks and seer if ui couldnt break the cycle

i lol'ed because I was thinking the same thing.

I bought someone Dr. Bronners soap for christmas last year because I love it so much. I recommend it to everyone but few head my advice. Anyone hasn't tried Dr. Bronners is missing out. Although few have reported its not for them. I use the bar for body washing too. I like the peppermint a lot.
