I agree with U4IA. I used to hate Oxy because it made me sick, but then I got my dosage right and it crushed hydro's in every way. As a matter of fact, hydro's will never ever be the same for me now that I've fallen in love with Oxy. It's just not as good
I think I have a bias against Oxy, I was addicted to OxyContin for 2 years, which was very unpleasant. Now that I don't have much of a tolerance anymore I try to stay away from oxy as much as possible. But I agree it is much better for the average person than hydro.
lol, don't worry i didnt od... but the doc says he cant give me anything stronger, and to talk to the orthopedic doc if it still hurts, but i felt the best i have in a while last night... 10mg of hydro, 7.5mg of oxy, and a blunt with some friends lol... idk why but i need at least 20mg of hydro to feel anything by itslef.. its weird cause you guys needed a lot lower dosage at frist but 10 mg hydro does nothing for me..
glad you had a great night and sorry your doc wouldn't give you something better. yeah, i used to have to take so little at first. i remember the days when i could take 1 lortab 10 and be in heaven. goddamn, i miss those days nowadays, taking 10mg of hydro is the same exact thing as twiddling my thumbs.... absolutely fucking boring.
I remember when 15mg of hydrocodone would MAKE me sick. Now 100mg of Hydro can't even stop the sickness from WD's. Irony.
no insurance for me.. but if anything i'll call him.. the generic vics i got were 17.99 for 30 so money isn't too big a problem.
He was saying if you have insurance, get an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon, and see what he gives you. To see a specialist like that without insurance, well lets just say, you probably won't be able to do it.
yea.. specialists are insanely expensive.. but i think they are more likely to hand out pills to you.. if anything.. try calling a specialist and talk to one on the phone and explain your lack of insurance situation and what your doctor told you and what not.. and see if maybe he'll call in to a pharmacy for you
ok, i see. with my doc, we just call him usually. but the speciaist charged us 200 for a cast, and my doc charges 55 when we go in to see him. i'm sure if my mom called the ortho doc he could send an online presciption, but my wrist feels a lot better, and its tough to fake excruciating pain to my mom. i still have about 14 vics, so i guess after these i'll have to say goodbye to opiates for a little while. p.s. i took 20mg of hydro about an hour ago, and i'm not feelin anything yet...
I highly doubt a doctor will call in a script of narcotics without seeing you first. Is that even legal to do so? I have to go to pain management every month, and my pain level is always the same, and so are my meds, but I still have to go.
i know 5mg of hydro isn't much, but my doc called it it for me, but i did see him the day before. i already saw both docs so, that shouldnt be a problem. and i dont take them regulary, maybe thats why you need to go to that?
You already saw the surgeon? Hrm, well you have a decent chance I guess....but if you want him to write something stronger then what you are currently on, you most likely will have to see him again. How do you afford a specialist without insurance?
i have free shitty insurance, casue my parents income tax returns show only about 25% of our real income, but anyway, when i saw the specialist, it cost $200 to see him.
Ah I see. Well then...if he wants you to come see him again, it's a risk. Do you want to risk spending an extra 200 dollars only to have him bump you up to 7.5mg vicodin? (Which will suck in the long run, because they have 750, yes, 750mg of APAP in them) He might just give you another script of the same thing, and not up you at all. It's up to you if it's worth the extra 200 dollars. I personally would just go back to the original doctor, and have him give you another script of the same 5/500's, since he won't go higher then that. Just my opinion though, let us know how it turns out.
ok, i may call the surgeon, but i won't visit, cause i'm gonna get billed at least 55 bucks for the visit..
I thought it was 200 for the surgeon visit, and 55 for the doctor visit? Either way, just call the doctor that scripted you the vics in the first place, and tell him you need more. He shouldn't have to see you again, especially for such a low dose narcotic.
well i'm not sure what a "visit" would run me. seeing him and getting the cast ran me 200. but yeah, i may just request more vics.
Dude if your not in bad pain anymore , don't worry about getting more. Getting addicted to painkillers is not fun, I wouldn't wish withdrawals on my worst enemy. Save your parents some money, put your leftover vikes away for a rainy day, and just chill.
