Get born, keep warm, short pants, romance, learn to dance, Get sick, get well, hang around a ink well, Ring bell, hard to tell if anything is gonna sell, Try hard, get barred, get back, write braille, get jailed, jump bail, Join the army if you fail. Look out kid, it's something you did. Better walk on your tiptoes don't try Nodose Better stay away from those that carry round a firehose, Keep a clean nose, watch the plainclothes, You don't need a weatherman to show which way the wind blows. -- Dylan
I suppose that in many ways it's important to set goals... but on the other hand, things never really turn out the way you plan them, so you never know what's going to be really satisfying and what's going to be a disappointment. You can go through your life with a long checklist and slowly put ticks next to the things you've done, but unless you know yourself really really well, you might just be kidding yourself. I'd be satisfied with just learning how to be happy with what I've already done... or to know that at least one person in this world really knows what I'm all about. But that's really hard...
I would just life as i always life, enjoy every moment of life till the moment itself dissappears. On the other hand, i might run naked trough the city first! .
I haven't been very well for a while and when your head is mucky, eyes blurry and limbs aching, life doesn't have the same "shine"....I would love to, just for one moment, have the clarity of thought to enjoy a truly, peaceful, serene moment, to take in every detail of the landscape, to feel part of it. I would give anything to be able to experience that before I die.
It's hard to say, because people are always changing, and in that, what they want it always changing. Plus, you have to account for accidents and surprises... But just from the top of my head- Travel around the world Meet lots of people Learn lots of languages Forsake shoes for good Draw down the moon at Stonehenge Learn to be happy with myself and oh so much more.
get married have kids travel more get over fear of airplanes see the wreck of titanic get fit- very fit become a better swimmer tons more.
I've been busy doing a bunch of crazy things for the past 10 or 11 years. I made a list of all that I've done before I am to turn 30, but here are a few still on my list - spend a year in Barrow, Alaska help legalize marijuana go to Fiji spend time in India visit the world's largest ball of twine write a few books live in a sustainable home go sailing
Perform slam poetry at least once. Meet an author of one of my favorite books. Fulfill every promise. Write something that will improve the day of at least 1000 people. Die in some cool fashion, preferably at an old age. (Although I suppose that couldn't be done 'before' I died.)
My list is probably going to turn out boring. -Have a dog again, and make it feel like the happiest dog in the world. -Fight the great battle. -Give a speech on my beliefs. -See the world. -Find out what happened to a bunch of people who disappeared from my life. -Bake something that tastes good. -Live, and not just observe. -Play a big festival. -Release many albums. -Go back to San Francisco again. -Finish something I started. I've got plenty more, but they're little things that I could do any day.
Thank you so much, you are very kind How come you didn't post your list? Or are you waiting until the thread gets a little longer to post your own list?
Honestly, I don't really have a list! =D I was trying to make one before so I decided to post this thread, you know, to get ideas. Plus I thought it'd be interesting to see what kinds of goals people want to achieve.
