I've smoked salvia twice and both times it was a powdery substance that we got at a local head shop. i recently purchased a gram of salvia online and what i recieved was a lot different from what i was expecting. it says on the sticker "not for consumption" etc etc, and it's not a powder at all. i'll upload a photo. is this smokable??? it's all black and plasticky looking....i'm nervous that i wasted my money... sorry about the not so great quality..
bouncing bear botanicals. they look like crunched up leaves coated in some kind of black stuff and they're kind of squishy. i'm really disappointed...i was expecting a gram of 50x salvia divinorum and i got this weird black shit..
your phone took shitty pictures. its likely that soo much additional salvinorum/chlorofyl from the extraction is on those bits of leaf that they are slightly tarry when i make 20-25X (approx), usually touching the dried leaf bits can leave slight green marks on your fingers. i assume 50X would do this moreso...
yeah i know my phone blows at taking pictures :/. i took like 6 different ones and this was the best quality i could get--even after using photoshop to enhance it! so yeah sorry about that. i used my fingernails to kind of smoosh the chunks up into smaller bits while it was all inside the little baggy it came in and it did leave green smudges on the plastic. it sounds like you're really knowledgeable on this subject. i'm not especially knowledgeable about salvia plant-wise, seeing as i've only smoked it twice and both times it was in a powder form. i just didn't want to smoke it if they like...treated it with some kind of chemical or something to make it usable for incense only or something. there's all kinds of "NOT FOR CONSUMPTION FOR RESEARCH OR INCENSE USE ONLY" messages all over the receipt, so i was nervous about it because of that and since it looked so strange to me. maybe i'm paranoid but i just didn't want to put something in my body that might be potentially poisonous, you know?

I'm a frequent customer of theirs. I buy all of my stuff from them. I've gotten a lot of salvia from them, and it's all been really good. I don't think they would send fake/bad stuff.
Yeah bouncing bear is really reputable, and is where I always order from, but my extract never looked like that...
