Hi there everybody...I have been considering dreading my hair for quite some time now but am concerned that perhaps my hair is too short. I would probablly start with the back comb method because my hair is so friggin fine and I know you loose length when doing that. I work with kids who have serious concentration issues and so I need to be able to pull them back so that their not a distraction. would I be able to do that at this length? Whaddaya think? Any feedback is much appreciated. Many blessings... Oh and sorry if my pic is freakishly ginormous....I dont know how to shrink it...it took me forever to figure out just how to post the damn thing....
if you just stop brushing and rub your hair with your hands you'll have dreads in no time. I started out at your length it's been 16 months now and I have some fatties peace
1st let me dsat wow another cutey with girgouse eyes! \if u go natural it'll grow as it dreads but if u backcoimb, a headband will keep em back no matter how short
Thanks so very much for the advice! Im obviously a newcomer to this site but am in love with it! Oh and thanks Soaringeagle for the nice compliment...your dreadies are insane! I love em!
oh hey i live by grass valley! yuba city i backcombed and i think i lost more length because of it, i lost half my length

To: nympfsue: Yuba city eh?! Right on! Hello neighbor! Your dreads are absolutely gorgeous! How long have you been dreading them? To: Soaring Eagle: yep I was able to translate..teehee and thanks for the advice. I think I will give it a try and have no fear about the waxhead stuff Ive been doing my research and wouldnt dream of it! Its so sad how companys like dreadhead and Knotty boy would try to capitalize on a product that is obviously harmful to the integrity of the development of dreads. To:Springheeleddah: Thanks for the advice and I love your quote!
oh whats even worse is they make it seem like you need theyre crap to have neat looking dreads so often we've heard younger kids say theyre parents would only allow dreads if they got them done in a salon and used wax..the 2 biggest mistakesu can make guaranteeing gross yucky dreads but they convince so many parents that thats the best way to go
Well....I started the process today au naturale! I was surprised to see how much the hair stuck together after the first wash. I'll keep it up and post pics as they get nappier and happier!
