Unless those folks happen to be Native Americans their very presence here wouldn't be possible without immigration. I'm sure you find this to be as amusing an irony as I do.

I don't know about others, but I don't hate immigrants. Many of them come here simply to have a better life for themselves. I can only respect that. At the same time, there are consequences of flooding a country with more people than it can handle, and this affects us all. I don't hold the immigrants responsible for this, however, but rather the government that is allowing this to go on for their own agenda.

totally. although, for some, there are reasons to be upset about the illegal immigrant "problem", but there is still no reason to hate the immigrants. those of us who live in Babylon reap what we sow. if we choose to live in a brainwashed society with a corrupt government then obviously many "problems" will arise

The problem is that here the biased, closed-minded hater happens to vote in numbers... and sits on juries.

And Wonka- I suppose that if you got completely technical nearly all species of humans migrated from somewhere to where they are now "native". I am aware that the so-called native Americans movement from possibly Siberia and had noted the facial similarities they share with folks of Asian ancestry... I would ordinarily avoid splitting hairs but you went to such an extent to "correct" me I would interpret an immigrant as a person who relocates to an established country and seeing as political boundaries had not yet been drawn the movement of people previously indigenous to another area might be better characterized as a migration. Yes, technically you are correct but my point stands to the OP notwithstanding anothers efforts to overshadow my point with superior education.

Rather than individual Republicans, does anybody know the Republicans stance on immigration?
How does it compare with the Democrats.

It's pretty much the same. The Republicans talk about being tough on illegal immigration, but they're not. I mean, just look at the current administration. Illegal immigration has spiraled out of control in the past eight years. But this is what the corporations and big money interests want, so that's what they're going to get, regardless of what party is in office.

    I thought so.
I thought they may be the same.
I'd like some evidence of this though.
I found the Democrats view (I think):

Nonetheless, our current immigration system has been broken for far too long. We need comprehensive immigration reform, not just piecemeal efforts. We cannot continue to allow people to enter the United States undetected, undocumented, and unchecked.
We need to secure our borders, and support additional personnel, infrastructure, and technology on the border and at our ports of entry. We need additional Customs and Border Protection agents equipped with better technology and real-time intelligence.

    Not the Republicans.

I can't say I hate the people themselves, but I've been put out of work for weeks by illegals(I build houses),then had to come back to fix their fuck ups.I harbor a lot of resentment towards illegal immigrants.if you want to be here, jump thru the same hoops all the others did.if you don't,ur breaking the law,& deserve full consequence

Immigrants are a real time indicator for us of how good Americans have it here.

Meditating on the immigrant experience helps one to question the prevailing orthodoxy of how terrible America is.

The nations that these immigrants are streaming in from feature the type of statist, paternalist, feudalist kleptocrac goverment that many activists are wishing to inflict on us in America.

Compare this to how many people leave America for someplace else.

I feel the same way about dinner with democrats and how much they hate everybody who is below them. There's elistism on both sides but the dems revel in it.
