i hate it. i'm no good at it, and it makes me feel stupid. i've been putting off this philosophy paper now for 4 days...5 days. well, technically i've been putting it off since i got the assignment. the thing about philosophy is, if you're going to talk about a philosopher, and thus, his/her philosophy, you essentially have to know what school/tradition of thought they are a part of, because you can't JUST read one person's thoughts. and that's where all the quoting comes from. but if someone is trying to make a cross-point, they'll throw out a quote from some other philosopher in a different school of thought, and then you're just all, "well god damn." i need to fucking read more, and my interest level is through the roof, but god damn, shit's tough. i thought all along that i like to live in the abstract, boy was i wrong. i am no philosophizer.
