hi! i am the person who is always giving hair color advice! just thought Id post. my hair is mid back length, the blonde tips are real hair extensions sewn in (about 5/6 inches long). i bleached the front to match. my dreads are almost 2 years old. i started with a dread perm (yes, i know), with dreadies about 2.5 inches long. now they are half way down my back! i go for maintenance every 7 or 8 weeks, where my friend wraps a string around the roots loosely to remind my hair to dread. its so unbeleivably straight it wont do it on its own (yes I tried, for like 6 months). i color my roots to match the dreads (light golden brown) and bleach the front when roots come in. so all kinds of dreads can happen, its up to you! dont let know it alls tell what you you can or cant do! we are all special in our own way! i think the absolutely only thing we all agree on here is NO WAX and NO CROCHETING! have a good day everyone!
wow they are very beautiful! you are talented, i use to dye my hair alot, i'd always dye it black, wait 4 or more months for a few inches of roots to come out, then bleach them and die them blue or red or what not. your colors are amazing i like how they go together and they way they blend.
Looks like you have some cool tats too! I'm curious about your user name, got an old first generation honda civic? Iv'e got my heart set on one. I bet it's nothing like that though lol.
her name is shortie and she is a cvcc, the model before the civic. she is a speed demon! i have had her for about 7 years. I love her, she is so perfect i bought an old datsun truck and garaged shortie. but she's coming out of hiding soon! you can stil find them- but if you are in europe, id get a real mini (not bmw) for sure. i couldnt afford a mini, so i bought shortie. if you are in the US, there are lots out there, try craigslist or ebay. thanks for the compliments on my hair! its fun to have a picture up because i know what you all look like and now you know me!
lol yeaits freat to hasve a pic up umm i always thought ya were a guy...lol very prett y dreads and all i wonfderthough if u stopped the maintanance and the sytring thing if it wouldnt dread just fine u say in 6 months the roots wouldnt dread well how much growth is that? are u getting 6 inches of straifght roots? if so that maybe die in part to the dreadperm ive seen dreads started from well it ws crazy 3 foot long synthetetic braids grafted onto 2 foot of dreadperm dreads which then were hanging from several feet of undreadedd haor try a bead at the roots then justy let em grow i bet they dread just fine eventualy
I think you look fabulous! I do agree with soaring eagle about questioning the necessity of so much root maintenance... but if you're fine with it then to each her own!

you make an old lady feel good. i am 4o. and yes, those are porcupine quills in my hair. they are super strong and are perfect for getting dreads to stay in one place!
