thats perfectly normal. the fact that they look bad now just means that they're doin their job of knotting, unknotting etc. they need to do that in order to mature. just stick with it and they'll come out great. and wraps wont really hurt them and mildew only happens if u dont dry them fully. beads work great too!

Mine are at like, 2 months i think, and i ahve the lil frizzy loose hairs on them aswell, its perfectly natural, i do a lil dread balling, where i rub them down intl lil balls and get a crochet hook to loop em in to the nearest dread, just one method i use :p

stop using that methid..your enforcing your will over the will of the dread telling them where each hair should go.. crochet hooks rip hairs as u poke em through dreads this causes more loose hairs not lkess and weakens the dreads over time
loose hairs between dreads will fuind theyre own home if left alone..or they will become new dreads on theyre own..
right now i have about 50 baby dreads under 4 inches all from the loose hairs..but i let many combine with other dreads the past few months reducing that number to maybe 15..

of u insist on telling the hairs which dread to be in they will require ripping more often..which will cause more shirt loose hairs....and mopre work if u insist on constantly enforcing your will over natures...
just leave emj be..loose hairs take care if themselves
