Okay, my first question is about hair testing. I've heard that they could look back at your drug history for years and years, however they only cut off 3 months worth of hair. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I seem to be getting a lot of conflicting evidence with this issue. It's important since I smoked five months ago, so if it's three months I'm all good, if not I might be screwed. And my second question: The reason I'm asking is because I've heard Blockbuster uses hair testing, however I have also gotten conflicting evidence on this. Does anyone know what kind of drug test Blockbuster uses from experience, because I can't seem to find a straight answer (including from testclear.com).
I dont know what type of test BlockBuster uses.. why they would go so far as to use hair testing is beyond me... you're a fuckin video store clerk.. you dont need the super cleanest people on the planet to punch a few buttons and ring up rentals.. If it is a hair test.. you're fucked..
Lol if my employer hair tested me i would just shave my entire body cept my pubes and ask them to go get it... Hopefully the person i do this too is not gay otherwise that would be awkward
Shit, in my experience some of the people that are most knowledgeable about movies and therefore the best person to work a video store are stoners.
i know someone that works at blockbuster video. they've never once mentioned drug testing of any sort as a condition of employment.
I worked for Blockbuster when I was in college way back when. Hell, the store I first worked in closed a few years ago. That was like 18 or 20 years ago. Back when it was just videos, they even had laser disks (the big ones the size of a record). At that time they did use hair for drug testing. At that time I could give a shit. I had not even thought about using drugs back then. About your question concering the hair. Hair grows about an inch or so a month depending on the person and the time of year, diet etc. Hair will keep a record of your use for a long as your hair is long. It might be three months of hair but it can contain trace amounts of THC and other chemicals for as much as two or three months before that. What they will do when they hire you is cut off a small part of your hair in the back and on the top of your head which grows the slowest. I have heard that the shampoo does not work. So, I would not try it. Don't waste the money. The only suggestion that I can make to you is go ahead and get a haircut before you go. That way it's shorter. Other than that just try and stay calm, and hope they don't fire you. I was thinking about that about a year ago when I went into a Blockbuster. I noticed one of the employees smoking outside at the end of the building. The wind was blowing my way and I smelled weed. At that time I thought that they might have revised their drug testing policy. I guess I was wrong.
i doubt theyd test. its a min-wage position that requires minimal work and maximum movie-watching experience. its a stoner heaven. plus, how many of you have been in a blockbuster at least once looking for a movie/game while completely stoned out of your minds? (i have)
When I was touring a manufacturing plant for an engineering class, the company tour guide very proudly stated that they use the hair test method to test applicants. I don't know if it varies by state, but he said they go back 6 months which was the most the law would allow.
