Has anyone seen the "Rough guide to Faslane Peace camp" video on Schnews? I just watched it. It seems to have been shot after we were up there at Easter. There was a clear shot of what I think was one of Fleassy's paintings....

They focussed on it for a good few seconds. I also saw the sunflower, complete with added smiley face, which I spent some time having a conversation with....

There are some aspects to it which I disagree with, from what I've seen and heard, regarding their organisational structure. With Hoosey having been there the longest, despite being esentially an anarchist community, it gives rise to rigid heirarchical structures, which are hard to negotiate. This is the trouble with the left in general, be in the SWP or a small group of anarchists, they become exclusivist, sectarian and devisive. Having said that, they are still doing a brilliant job, and are amazing people. I'd much rather they were there than not, and the same goes for the SWP. We all really need to find new ways of organising (or disorganising) of uniting, and of making real progress. There are some small independent groups that are doing great things in affecting this kind of change in the movement. Schnews is one of them. The Socialist Unity Network www.socialistunitynetwork.co.uk is another one I have a lot of time for, they're very open, democratic and inclusive, without being tied to any political party. Great people....

Use Real Alternative... it's free, and does not try to take over your computer like Real Player does:
