I am compiling information and studies about the affects of marijuana. I am posting the websites that I find on del.icio.us/legalizalo

If you don't know about del.icio.us it is a great place to store your favorite websites online so that you can get to them no matter what computer you are on. No, I don't work for them or anything, I just like the site. And "Legalizalo" means "legalize it" in spanish.

On my site you will see entries that are marked "marijuana truth" these are kyndly sites. Then you will see entries that are marked "marijuana lies" these are sites from government agents like the DEA that tell lies about marijuana. I also included sites that are marked "president" That are from presidential candidates Obama and McCain. Both of them have no idea what is going on and would continue the oppression of this beautiful plant.

Anyways. I started this site on del.icio.us because eventually I want to send lots of emails to the government retards asking why the stuff is illegal. Most of the website in our favor have references to back up their information, while most of the governmental websites have nothing but hearsay and the scared middle class to support their opinion.

Take a look. And do something intelligent. After you have read some of the information that I have compiled, send an email to your senator, your state representative, your city mayor, your state governor, hell, send Bush an email. Send them all an email or letter saying that we need to stop spending so much money on the prosecution of marijuana and legalize it so that we can tax it. And smoke freely.

    Happy 420 brothers,

    Guy Savage

Lemme add an adendum; Heroin, Cocaine and Methamphetamines aren't cool. I support marijuana because it has never killed anyone. H, C & M will fuck your world up. Not cool at all. MJ on the other hand, no worries, if used in moderation. Same as alcohol and tobacco. No worries if used in moderation.

^i've seen people do that for ayahuasca ceremonies or something. nasty shit.

lets face it, what needs to be taken into consideration are legitimate scientific studies. not all of them are in favor of the "pot is harmless" front.

i agree damage from occasional (or even just reasonable) use is minimal. but it does exist.

It's all about business. The government regulates what drugs are legal and illegal through the FDA, an institution that analyzes drug tests performed by companies. Those companies publish studies based on products they develop and field tests with patients, controls, placebos, and other variables being factored into the equation.

Marijuana is a long way from legalization because even if a study was published, or three or nineteen, the conductors of the study would be in hot water when they reveal that they gave X amount of people Y amount of marijuana. That's drug trafficking, through and through. And the last I checked the government throws people in jail for that.

    The steps go as follows:
    1) Decriminalization: reducing sentences, more states adopting medical marijuana programs, and eventually reducing trafficking of marijuana from a felony to a misdemeanor. Included in this is the rescheduling or descheduling of marijuana as a Class I drug with cocaine and LSD (meth and opiates, coincidentally, are of a lower schedule class).
    2) Social Acceptance: Just because it's not super-illegal any more doesn't guarantee tolerance or acceptance on the cultural level. Reworking the D.A.R.E program, teaching responsibility as opposed to abstinence, and receiving funding for marijuana-related studies is the next step.
    3) Legislation: At this point, once it's decriminalized to a degree and it's regarded as a medicine, bills need to be put forth for taxation, regulation, and DUI laws regarding marijuana (and cruising still won't be legal, I can almost guarantee that). This will be a long process that'll take at least 6 months for any headway to be made.
    4) Commercialization: Just because marijuana is legal to smoke and purchase doesn't mean it will be legal to grow. You can bet that IF it becomes legal, the businesses that control it (I'm thinking RJ Reynolds and Philip-Morris) won't want you growing your own stash, so they'll lobby for some anti-cultivation act.

I just hope that if it's ever legalized, we don't give them a reason to make it illegal again by acting irresponsibly.

The scientists won't get in trouble for letting people smoke pot to do research studies. The government allows it because they will probably only fund studies that try to show how marijuana is more harmful than it really is.
