Cynthia Mckinney is getting my vote. I was just talking to my friend on the phone and he spent the better part of 10 min trying to persuade me to vote obama. I was like dude Ive done the research and I know which candidate I like best.
he said "tom" one time and jim was the name of the moderator. i'm just sayin'. i will also say, i think mccain came out slightly on top. all day the news was saying there was going to be three "candidates" in this debate: mccain, obama, and "expectations." i think mccain overcame all expectations (given the 2 weeks leading up to this) and obama underwhelmed (which, unfortunately, seems to happen a lot). but that's my $.02.
I am a Democratic-Republican and certainly will be placing my mark for Thomas Jefferson on my hemp ballot.
i noticed throughout the debate mccain tried to create this aura of him being wise and obama being naive inexpieranced, like a father talking to a son. he didn't really seem to take obama seriously.
Yes, I noticed that myself. I think he was trying to refer to the moderator. It was slightly amusing. Personally I found myself agreeing with Obama on just about everything. Plus, it seemed as though everytime Barack made a good point, McCain would slip a little bit more. He appeared quite nervous, really.
I am suspicious of both of them. i was all gung ho for obama but there is something wrong. just a feeling, a hunch if you will. something is fishy in politics, and i don't trust present, nor the possibilities (and likely failures) in the near future. something just doesn't feel right to me. but yes, i watched. I switched between NBC and BBC. BBC's cameras weren't as good, but i did watch their after show. on a side note, anyone here who lives in canada and knows whether or not the country is ready for the exodus from the US? i was pondering that the other day.
I agree with you, I have a gut feeling that there is some 'catch' with Obama that people are missing. I just disagree with a lot of his politics. I think McCain sucks too, although he may have a chance if he wasn't pro-war and didn't pander to business. But I think both candidates suck and our political system has been a sham and getting worse since LBJ. I think I will be joining the league of non-voters for this election.
So I've watched all the debates, and I've been writing a lot about um for classes, and I just found that they have all of them on elections.nytimes.com but they are set up SOOO wonderfully. Prior to discovering this, I was rewatching it all on youtube and I had to scan thru it all and just around and it took forevvver. But on the nytimes, they have a little time line above the video, color coded to when each canidate speaks, then they list what they are talking about when on the time line. They ALSO list the whole transcript on the side so you can read along AND there is an awesome search function to look through the entire transcript for topics that intrigue you. Very very very nice
Sweet I have missed every debate and that site will let me watch them Fuck watching important shit on youtube, it almost defeats youtube's purpose.
Yes, i highly recommend playing the maverick drinking game, you will become politically aware and shithoused all at the same time. Can't ask for much more out of life, eh?
Yes, plastered politically just like your local politicians I also recommend watching the VP debate without the sound on, it's much better that way. Just light some candles, sip some bubbly, and stare deeply into Senator Palin's big brown eyes...
